Unlike Dalton Smith, Adam Azim has been in a tremendous development over the past 18 - 24 months.

I agree. Dalton Smith's opponent last night was so bad it's almost beyond words.

DAZN summed up in that I have several mates who support Wednesday and know about Dalton yet had no clue he was fighting, then this morning I’ve had 3 mates who are casuals at best asking what time Whittaker is fighting.

I think back to when various people on here were looking back with rose coloured spectacles and lamenting the disappearance of Adam Smith from our screens . Well he’s back, he’s going to be on more than ever and he is absolutely unbearable. I honestly think that if he was commentating on Hagler Hearns, Castillo Coralles and the Gatti Ward trilogy, no one would be remembering them as the great fights that they were. I f**king hate his ‘ narratives. ‘ Beale’s post that I have quoted above is short, to the point and completely correct. I wish Smith was like that. To the people who were saying ‘ I really miss Adam Smith on Sky ‘ , well, you’ve wanted him and now we’ve all got the useless windbag. I’m going to start saying ‘ oh I really miss Mike Costello ‘ cause I do and he was bloody terrible but at least he doesn’t ruin everything like this doofus does….. ‘ Join us later on DAZN when Gabrielle Fundora defends her world titles…. A brilliant fighter and an amazing ambassador for our game ‘ Everything wrong with modern boxing summed up by Smith in two sentences.

I think the problem at times with a lot of father and son coaches is that they try to seperate the fact they are blood but they cant, who's the relationship more beneficial for? Generally, historically not the fighter.

If Smith is the talent he's hyped to be he would be improving in performance and quality of opponent, he isn't.

I think Azim is an accident waiting to happen the way he leaves his chin bolt upright

Fighting this level of opposition is not going to improve on them things too.

I guess he is who he is now ...seems to me he thinks he a puncher and the problem with that at world level you need to win rounds know how to outbox outpoint opponents .. his power won't always knock them over just like last night ..

I don't see him as a all round fighter a bit one dimensional if I may say ..

Dalton Smith will learn the hard way that a lot of fighters do when stepped up after too long treading water at the same level.

Bad habits and easy fights breed repetition, you learn nothing about in fight adjustments, being extended by an opponent that comes to win and works you for three mins of every round.

We are talking about not being beaten but facing opponents who bring out the best in yourself.

Who manages Smith? Is it his dad?

Azim is stepping up the levels in opponents perfectly. Nobody better for that than the McGuigan’s.

Only know his Dad trains him so obviously has a big say in opponents especially when he's on the way up, pre title level the trainers do have a big say.

As you know once a fighter reaches contender level, you simply sink or swin unless your promoter like Hearn targets a certain opponent that the trainer also wants and is viable.

Their opposition has been about the same. You're talking like he hasn't been facing bums like Poulson, Petijean and O'Hara Davies!

I actually think Pierce O'Leary is better than both. People should be talking about him more.
