Dalton Smith vs. Samuel Maxwell & Hopey Price vs. James Beech Jnr RBR.

Just caught up with the last few fights of this card.

Sorry but that was a sham of a main event, Maxwell didn't wanna know.

& Eddie, keep Mccormack away from Kelly......Kelly would make a fool of out him.

 

Risky fight but agree it's the type of step up he needs, at least Commey would come to fight and not scared to let his hands go even if he is over the hill.

 

It's Sunny Edwards......Pillock is his middle name.

 

I think it would be a calculated gamble. If Smith is as good as i think, and his team think, it would be ideal. Like you say be would fight someone who thinks they can win.

 

He looked good last night and I think the highlight reel KO was probably what he needed to generate intrest in him, he looked a class above Maxwell from the 1st bell.

As always with this type of fight, you always wonder how much it is one fighter improving or the other in decline, I suspect its a bit of both but Smith looked classy, will be interesting to see who they match him with next.

As for Maxwell, if he fights on I suppose he becomes a bit of a British level gatekeeper that promoters will look to put in against any rising prospects.

 

I like Smith but he needs to get rid of that stupid ****ing daft band playing Wednesday songs.

He’s never going to be a star if he keeps this football tribal ****.

The thing why Kell Brook was such a success locally is because he everyone in the city (and surrounding towns) were behind him. None of this Blades or Wednesday.

Difference between Josh Warrington who also has the football crowd obviously is because Leeds is a one club city. Whereas Smith only has half the city to gather his support from.

 

To be fair to him, I get the football thing, especially if it's not being driven by a promoter ( there is definitely a few fighters with no affiliation, but suddenly are life long fans to try and gain a few supporters - Courtenay & Watford being a prime example) but if he is a lifelong fan and it's his dream to fight at Hillsborough then why not have a link to the team & it's fans.

The KO last night would of helped, but not sure how popular he is despite the football element. The arena was dead for large periods last night, top tier closed off, most of food/drink outlets closed, only real que was at box office for people collecting comps tickets and even with those it was a thin crowd.after 15 fights and all the hype you would of thought he would have a big support base. Few more performances like last night will help though

Spot on mate. I like Dalton Smith but I ****ing hate Wednesday so the thought of going to his fights to listen to Wednesday songs for 4 hours doesn’t appeal to me.

All my mates used to go and watch Brook and most weren’t massively interested in boxing but outside of the 3 mates I’ve got that support Wednesday nobody wants to watch Smith and it’s because they know it’s basically a Wednesday fans day out.

 

You hate most of boxing and Sheffield Wednesday, you need therapy !!!
