First time watching the young man and I am very impressed. He knows his boxing. Technically sound and well rounded. A real thinker.
I'm sure he was thinking when Gonzalez dropped him twice in the first round "Why the fcuk did I listen to alcoholic Barry and leave the £1.5 million to fight Quigg on the table?"
To be fair, they weren't the most explosive of blows, were they? Admittedly, Carl looked more embarrassed than hurt...but the fact remains that his punch resistence (which has never been an issue) looked worryingly suspect.
This forum gave Adamek hell for being put on his ass from Vitaly's jab, you have to be consistent and do the same to Quigg especially considering the size difference between Vitaly and Fonfara, vs Frampton and Gonzalez
So, are you saying that the man don't have skills or what. Being dropped twice and not fighting Quigg is irrelevant. He has excellent boxing skills and intelligence. Ireland has a real winner in him and should be proud.
He fought a guy straight outta the soup kitchen line ffs. Quigg just destroyed Framptons best win in two rounds
No, I am saying that after round one it looked like Team Frampton's decision to leave the £1.5 million to fight Quigg on the table had backfired spectacularly. Unlike many, I have followed the career (and been a fan) of Frampton for years...and I know Scott Quigg personally so I (more than most) have wanted these two to fight and make a lot of money. But poor advice and egos has jeopardised one of the most logical British match-ups imaginable. Hopefully they will fight asap.
