Arent you forgetting how many times Rigo has been shaken and floored? atsch What about Quigg? Eh? Remember Jamie Arthur? Salinas? Even last night - up to the uppercut, Quigg was getting bossed all around the ring by Kiko. :admin Do you remembe ANY of this stuff??? :nono Carl beats Quigg all day.
Dunno what all the fuss is about. Quiggs room-temperature IQ fans cant seem to accept a fine performance from Carl again last night??? Fair play to Quigg - he moved in for the kill after he fluked that uppercut. Panicy ref helped a bit with a premature stoppage. But credit to Scott.
I was terribly impressed with Frampton. I think those KD's in the first round had more to do with balance issues and fighting a little too recklessly. It was probably him being too overanxious to start the fight due to the magnitude of what he's doing (coming over to the states to further his star power.) He really showed his championship pedigree by being able to overcome that nightmarish start. He looks like the complete package. After the first round, he looked very composed inside the ring, very good handspeed, good pop and placement on his punches. The only guy I see really giving him any trouble in the division is Guillermo.
I think Frampton will have learnt some brilliant lessons after Saturday. That first round was such a nightmare, to come out after that and win every round after showed amazing mental toughness, that I doubt he will have known before that he had. There is no doubt going into the first round, Carl had some pressure on his shoulders, and once he knew he was in a fight, he stepped up to the plate. After that first round, he boxed excellently, his him with some lovely shots, and Gonzales showed he is pretty tough. Quigg had an excellent win, and it was nice for Frampton to acknowledge that afterwards as well.
What's this Shingo wake like that frampton has to fight next? Hasn't fought anyone out of Japan. Easy fight for frampton? Or is he pretty good?
