D'Amato, and trainer Dan Florio believe Patterson beats Marciano

    But he was strong enough to move patterson around. Patterson trying to brawl with Marciano would end in disastrous fashion for floyd.

    patterson and marciano both at their best, you would have to go with marciano. However floyd would have his moments as all class fighters did against rocky. Floyd was not that fragile. Take away the Liston flops and he held his own and toughed it out very good with the best. Johansson III was a war with a prime heavyweight, chuvalo was a physical fight with a powerhouse and much later floyd handled wild man bonavenna with ease.

    Sure Marciano would eventualy have ground Floyd down but for speed and boxing rocky would have found patterson dificult to break down. Marciano was too much man for kid floyd in 55 or 56 but by 1959 patterson was no kid and IMO its a more even fight by the time floyd had beat good heavyweights. pity was, around this prime, floyd also lost confidence in bigger fights so against an ATG its not that good for him either.
