Why haven't I heard a peep about this guy? Elite international level Greco-Roman competitor who won Bronze at the 2012 London games and Silver in the 2011 world championships... He made his debut in May and utilized his wrestling advantage to it's fullest in punching and kneeing a tough journeyman out inside the 1st round. He's returning in 6 days for KSW's year end extravaganza against a more experienced(although far more fragile) opponent. At 28 he's not too old to make a splash I'd say... Realistic goal would be spending 2-3 years in KSW and winning the title before signing with the UFC. What are your expectations of him if any?
Maybe he should shite himself like a certain Cuban MMA fighter who was an Olympic medalist that would get people talking.
Janikowski won by 2nd round TKO today, improving to 2-0. Hopefully he fights 4-5 times next year in KSW and challenges for the title in 2019. All goes well, he signs with the UFC 2-3 years down the road?
Massive step up this week against MichaĆ Materla. 26-6 with several wins against ex UFC fighters this might a bridge too far for Janikowski This content is protected This content is protected
Hey. Try and look up Mark O Madsen. Greco-Roman wrestler, five time medalist at the worlds - 4 silver 1 bronze and silver medalist at the Olympics in Rio 16. Decided to focus full-time on an MMA career a year ago or so, 5-0 so far, two bouts years back, 3-0 this year. He is 34 years old though, but still progressed as a wrestler before he decided to focus on MMA. His goal is to fight in the UFC and see how far he can take it.
