They should throw the other Kid in the team as well. Great opportunity for both of them

What a natural...Give this kid the commonwealth games and God willing the London Olympics ..and all the international competitions in between..to hone his craft and Damien has a bright future ahead of him.

Any film of the other medalist?

Luke Jackson is our stand-out at 60kg and Commonwealth Games Team Captain. Also our most experienced boxer having won bronze at the last Comm Games.

Brett has never fought Luke Jackson. Brett has only recently stepped up to the 60kg division. He has been competing for about 3 1/2 years and has won a silver at Arafura games, Bronze at the World Youth champs and now a silver at the Youth Olympic games. Brett is a back to back youth Australian champion 57kg and has about 40 fights.

Man this guy is doing incredible.

Brilliant for me because i fought him at Aus titles ( his first im pretty sure ) and lost by 1 point. There was only 3 in our weight/age group and i got him first up while NT fella got a bye straight to final. Hooper knocked the poor lad out in 30 seconds or something to win aus title. I pissed off because i didnt even get a bronze medal for coming 3rd out of 3! ha

I doubt i could have gone as far as him had i landed the 2 more punches but **** it...my mates dont need to know that

    Congrats to Damien!

    Hiya Box

Man its my fault because i didn't read the posts above me.

I got your PM but i've only made a few posts so it wouldnt let me reply!

I meant i fought Hooper in i think 2008 in Sydney at a RSL Club. we were both 16 yo at the time.
Im pretty sure it was his first time there but i couldn't be sure.
I remember being really happy with myself because it was about my 6 or 7th fight and he had 32 at that stage. Really nice boy he was.
Im actually very surprised hes done as well as he has, hes doing brilliant and making me look good in the process! hah (i know i know i only fought him at 16, im just messing )

My Plans box have been put on hold. Its not an easy thing to give up just about everything to take the sport seriously in which there might be no reward. I've still got 3 months of school left aswell as part time work which takes up about all my time. I'll be travelling to London to work with some people i know and i was hoping i'd have a bit more time to box as well.
I don't see myself going nearly as far as Damien, i've got some people to take care of now and just finding time is hard.

I hope i can take it up again in England but not sure of the rules there that i would need to follow in order to compete.

I'll do what i can though.
