Technically Macedonia was also a part of Yugoslavia.

The whole region is a mess. Damir's from the same city as me, Mostar. Idk how it is now, but in the 90s and early 2000s there was literally a bridge that separated the city in half, with one side being Bosniaks and the other being Croats, modern day segregation basically. From what I understand, things are better now and people are starting to get together again, but the economy is in ruins and ppl are literally dying of hunger.

What do you do think about Tom Schwarz, IB? :think

Kind of average at the moment but not too far behind some of his more experienced German peers in the skill department i'd say. Youth alone is a pretty big upside as a prospect in the HW division. I'd say that behind Wallisch(who's heart doesn't really appear to be in boxing) that his potential out of the current crop of German HW talent is the strongest.

I checked out CST's thread on Beljo that he linked and saw you were pretty dismissive of him, calling him a "slow plodder". :think

I can see thinking so, especially when he fought Berrio. He likes to post up in the middle of the ring and work the body, and if you give him the slip by pulling the rug out from under him it does affect his balance and composure for a moment, and he doesn't set himself very well punching while chasing.

Still, he does move (during non-engagement periods) well enough and throw pretty good body combinations for such a big guy, no?

Would you agree that him vs. Seferi is 50-50 or is your opinion low enough that you'd expect him to get beaten up by the Albanian Tyson?

Eh...he seemed to get lucky with Mezencev running outta puff (and looking far cleverer and more skillful before that) - and it doesn't bode well that of the last half a dozen men to beat Airich, only Schwarz failed to stop him.

Yeah, I think I mentioned it in the thread, but it seemed like every fight I've seen of his was either controversially or a fluke win. Seferi certainly has the better resume and has been in there with much tougher opposition, but he is quite old and weathered, and always fell short when he stepped up. With that said he's only been stopped once despite fighting some of the toughest cw, so I'd have to give Seferi the edge over Beljo.

What about the finish in Beljo vs. Kurzweil I seemed unsatisfactory to you? I notice you mentioned it as "controversial" in your reply in CST's profile thread.

    :huh

Kurzweil got hit in the lung, couldn't breathe, and quit. It wasn't like he got fouled or anything.

A lung shot actually makes sense, guess it's not so controversial after all. A lot of the other fights had some wonky ending though, idk it caught me off guard at the time because they were supposed to be his highlights, but most ended up being flukey stoppages, idk if any of his fights posted were legit knockouts, except for the lung punch, and even that's a little unorthodox

Further details on the Beljo vs. Kurzweil II circumstances:

...apparently they fought the entire three minutes of the 1st, but it was stopped during the break due to several cuts near Kurzweil's eyes that Beljo had inflicted with punches. There may have been knockdowns as well (hard to say with very rough translation from Bosnian)

Cijeloj mojoj Bosni i Hecegovini, mojoj Rami i svima! Hvala puno i svima koji su molili Boga da uspijem i Bogu hvala to se ostvarilo. Kurzweilu želim brz oporvak", poručio je Beljo.

"Kurzweil Didn't forfeit the match, he wanted to continue, but because of a big cut under his eye the ref and the doctor called it off during the break inbetween rounds" said Beljo after the match.

"I didn't expect this quick of a victory. I came into the bout carefully, but I immediately taught him that I'm the true owner of this belt. All my punches were precise and strong, and he was twice wobbled and well on his way to being knocked out.

Kurzweil wouldn't have lasted much longer anyways as he was heavily concussed. Thanks everyone for the big support! Everyone in my Bosnia and Herzegovina, my Rami, and everyone else. Also big thanks to everyone who prayed to God for my victory, and also thanks god for allowing it to happen. I wish Kurweil a quick recovery" said Beljo.
