Whilst those guys are not bums, it is a still a huge step up to fighting a young, hungry, powerful fighter with good boxing ability. I just hope this fight happens. The thing is, if Brook puts on a good performance and still loses, he would still improve his status in the division, as Porter's stock is super high at the moment.

Porter just beat a shot fighter in paulie. Let's not get carried away. Porter would have a much tougher time with Kell who has legit power. I have shawn as a 60-40 fav in a fight vs kell

Brook hasn't fought anyone in the top 10 of the division so I'd say its a massive step up.

Unless Paulie aged overnight (which can happen) there isn't any evidence before the fight to suggest he was shot.

Personally I think Porters style is a little bit of a nightmare for Brook.
I would not be surprised if Porter moves in another direction and vacates and Brook fights somebody else for the vacant title.

Paulie didn't look shot against Broner or Judah did he ? Porter deserves massive credit for the way he handled Malignaggi last night.

That said, I wouldn't be so quick to write Kell Brook off in this fight, he's got the style and the punching power to cause Porter problems. Just his stamina late on in the fight could let him down because Porter is proven to be able to fight and fight hard for 12 rounds.

Malignaggi outclassed and stopped a guy who is one of Brooks best wins.

Why are people calling Paulie shot? Hes on arguably the best form of his career and Nobody has done that to him what Porter did last night. That is a great win i don't know why people want to downplay it.

Theyll just demand porter comes to the uk like paulie was gonna. Cant see porter doing that so its pretty much a get out of jail free card for brook really.

    Right, fine, some sense.......*sigh*

Agreed Price was "found out" and if Thompson didn't get off the canvas within 10, someone else would have and 'exposed' him.

However, we're talking about world level operators and the fine margins are the difference. Believe me, if Kell catches Porter early (I expect a telling exchange of blows within 1 min of rnd 1) then all the bluster and relentlessness of Porter will go straight out of the window!

There is no guarantee this happens, indeed, Porter will be favourite in a match-up but with a well prepared game plan and a 'now-or-never' mentality from a talent like Brook, this fight is not nearly as one-sided as the general consensus on this forum would have it.

A 55/45 fight in favour of Porter IMO henace anything I see over those odds at the bookies will be taken, and logically so.

Porter is very good, but has some obvious flaws, which include being open for right hooks, coming in straight lines flat footed. Now Brook has a great jab, and a great right hook so I think he will win. If he gets too brave and stands and trades with Porter he will get knocked out, but I think he is clever than that. Porter style reminds me of Jeff Lacy (bit more speed), but fundamentally similar, and if Brook fights half as good as Calzaghe did v Lacy he will beat Porter, as I think he will

always thought brook looks nervous when fighting , and the senchenko fight for me told me hes getting ko'd when he fights anyone world class , he was rocked to his boots before getting the ko hiself , senchenko is by no means a puncher and barely world class ... been waiting for him to fight somebody half decent for 7 years to lump on lol !
