just rewatched his wins over jensen and quarry..........and it still leaves me breathless.

i mean the guy goes to work on his opposition just like the snake i suggest as his nickname.

he leaves no space whatsoever between himself and his opponent, just sticks on them like glue.

his opponents, although competent fighters, just appear helpless. its almost an uneasy feeling...........just like watching a snake grab hold of some prey. the prey struggles.......but you know where its all going.

its this inevitability that characterizes his actions...........and puts me in just plain awe!!!!!!!!!

it all appears so non violent. Like a veterinarian putting a terminally ill pet to sleep.

    just AMAZING!!!!

i say with the exception of anderson silva(who you just cant bet against), this guy beats every middleweight on the planet.

and even vs silva..............if silva cant get him out on his feet real quick, and this winds up on the floor..........

    WHAT A "FIGHTER"

He is great to watch on the ground. Obviously he needs to improve his standup, but one question we need answered is how good is his chin? Palhares another classy BBJ guy, seems to have a decent chin as he took some good shots from Hendo. Leites is another dangerous guy on the ground (prob not as good as Maia or Palhares) and he has shown he also has a good chin.

Extract from an article in the Telegraph (can be found on the UFC site) about Bisping.

Bisping is the fighter that many want to test themselves against in the middleweight division. Rising star Damian Maia, a submission expert with great striking skills, unbeaten in 10 fights, has been making loud noises within Bisping’s earshot.

“I don’t like the sound of those noises, and I will pacify him,” said Bisping. “Damian is a really nice guy, a gentleman and a sportsman. He wants to go as far as he can in this sport.

"A lot of people seem to want to call me out. I don’t want to sound arrogant but they get beaten or knocked out when they come up against me. Damian is a submission expert, but he won’t get me down, and he’ll get knocked out. He’ll just have to get to the back of the queue for now.”

Why does he always have to run his mouth and say stupids things. He has never been in or probabaly even trained with anyone with Maia's BJJ abilities.
