This dude took a page right out of the mayweather school of defensive and counter punching style boxing. Pirog uses his feet and shoulders real well, as well as parrying shots off his gloves and elbows. He also trades and counters effectively on the inside. Pirog fights a good mimic of the afro american style while keeping a good workman like pace. He's a big middleweight, and has good power. I'm seeing a golo/pirog contest for world honors in about 24-30 months.
Very talented kid, I only got familiar with him recently, and I'm quite impressed. MW is getting deeper and deeper.
Well if unca roger was a real trainer and not just living off of the accolades of his nephew, then i'd take you serious. Besides, roger would probably tell pirog he's a clumsy whiteboy who don't know **** about boxing, and pirog would then preform a rocky lockridge on unca rog' and that'd be the last we'd hear from that crackhead.
Yeah noob, but i'm the thread starter and my thread had a point. Your response just repeated a few words of my post. Lose your train of thought mid-sentence. uurrrmmm. Or are you just a stupid hip-hopper living in your moms basememt at 22?
Oh it's just typical American stupidity, attributing anything skillful as being a "afro-american" characteristic. What that poster doesn't realize is that Pirog obviously developed his style under Russian tutelage and could of based his style by watching films on a long list of very talented Soviet era fighters at middleweight like Shatkov, Lemeshev, Popenchenko, etc. In his mind the world revolves around the United States and only quality can eminate from there. Shumenov, Golovkin, Korobov, Pirog, Karmazin, Bute, There is lots of variety in styles coming out of Eastern Europe. Upon watching Vasyl Lomachenko win gold in 08 Olympics i suppose he could have only been trained in Brooklyn, he certianly couldn't of aquired his skills/style in Ukraine. Yet reality continues to defy logic.
I don't know, don't care. What has roger done besides be the brother of the man who taught lil floyd how to fight. Any other fighters to mention in roger's illustrious stable? hmmmm? ............oookkk... thought not.:blurp
Good post. He had to go see his PO. That's why no response. I'm american, but I am cursed with smarts and a hunger for travel. So, we don't all just follow 3 or 4 fighters and call ourselves fans. I'm a boxing afficianado. And to be one, you have to follow the sport where it's played. Globally. Speaking of the devil himself. Where is lomachenko? He has to turn pro now!! **** london.
Lol yeah sorry about that, i know there are alot of real boxing fans from the U.S. I was speaking more to the U.S. media/ stereotypes / ******s like that poster, you get me. Yeah i'd love to see Lomachenko turn pro but i don't think it's happening before 2012. Good news is he'll only be 24 yrs old in 2012 so it's all good.
