I'm wondering if I'm being set up for a punch line here

I'm talking more about the run of PPVs they had back in I wanna say 08 where it was David Diaz vs Manny Pacquaio to the tune of 200K buys, B-Hop vs Pavlik to the tune of 175K buys and then RJJ and Calzaghe finished the **** storm with about 300K. Sandwiched somewhere in there was JMM vs Casamayor which barely topped 125K.

floyd is a very good self promoter, it's why even with a boring style, he's the highest active paid boxer right now, and also one of the biggest draws.

Floyd needs to promotes the **** out of his fights because he is a safety first fighter whose style naturally does not appeal to the general public. To people using this as an example of how hard Mayweather works, and how much he cares about the sport, he does it because he has to. But it is good to see, even if he talks alot of crap

Whether that's true or not, He's clearly shown that there's more than one way to skin a cat in boxing.

I thought it was interesting how he said he was going old school for this training camp. I think Floyd knows he's going to need to bring his "A" game for this fight. Shane has a good chin, good stamina, excellent power, and he never wilts no matter what. I can't wait for this fight.

No he wouldn't. Shane Mosley is american, speaks english perfectly well, and has the same all action, nice guy, fight anyone persona that Pac does, and he's lucky if he breaks 500k without his opponent carrying the fight. The fact is there is no American boxer that is as revered or well known in America as Pac is in the Philipines. Filipinos love Pac because he is, literally, the most famous Filipino in the world. Amongst truly famous americans Floyd barely even registers. He's not exactly our ambassador to the world so outside of his pre-fight antics he has a low profile.

I do believe PBf faked the rib injury to promote the fight more, but what you have to understand is Pac vs Cotto was a BIG fight. Whereas PBF vs marquez wasnt that exciting a prospect as many people saw it as a tune up fight and didnt give JMM a chance in hell to win that fight. Alot of officinados didnt get behind that fight!

It still did great especially going up against UFC!

This time I think May vs Mosely will do huge numbers and Pac vs Clottey just shy of 1 milion maybe 800K/700K

Anyone else notice that Floyd doesn't seem to care about the questions being asked and just gives his own answers? Look how he brought up the blood testing issue without even being asked about it.

Because boxing is a business and good fights won't happen unless someone can make money off of them. If there's a product that I like, I like to see it succeed, so that it doesn't go away.

    nothing new there.

"Floyd, who do you want to fight next?"

"Money doesn't make Floyd, Floyd makes money!"

    "ok then..."

Your comparing Shane to Pac in terms of marketability? :patsch

There's a reason why a guy like Pac who cant even speak English is a much bigger draw than Shane. If you think not being able to speak English doesnt hurt you are ******ed. How do you think Floyd will be able to come on these talk shows, interviews if he couldnt communicate with these guys properly? He cant and he wont.

I am living with it. lol. I was just answering a question from someone asking "why pac isnt promoting his fight like these", simple, cos talk shows require you to talk and Pac is not a very good talker in English, infact he can barely speak it.

Exactly. Pasc will NEVER be the draw Floyd has been, is, and will be.
