Any Polish speakers out there? I've always wondered if Golota sounds as unintelligent in his native language as he does when he speaks English. I'd like to think there's a scholar lurking behind that thugish, aloof persona.

Its actually a funny thing, whenever I hear him doing an interview he almost sounds like a ******, he stutters a lot when he is nervous but when I read articles and they quote what he said he sounds very intelligent and has a great sense of humour.

That's my point. I wonder if those are honest translations, because to hear him interviewed you wouldn't think they were.

I think when he is doing an interview for press and they are sitting in a restaurant eating dinner and he is relaxed, he is more talkative and talks inteligently and makes some funny jokes and references but when he is interviewed in front of the cameras and gets nervous he starts to stutter and sounds like he has brain damage.

Could be. I also found it interesting that during the Ruiz fight, Lampley mentioned that Golota was an accomplished skier and mountain climber. He's the last guy I'd picture on a ski lift.

Like Maciek said, any interview you see with him in a restaurant or after a work out or something he is always smiling and joking around. He is intelligent and speaks normally, and is not a dumbass like some people seem to think.

Skiing is almost all Golota does in his free time. If he's not training he's skiing. I'm exagerrating a little of course, but you kno what i mean lol

Wow. So does he only live part-time in Chicago? He's just not the dude you'd expect to see at the ski lodge hot tub.

I'm not sure where he spends most of his time, but he definently does ski. As a matter of fact IIRC he said after he rests from the Mollo fight he is going to go skiing for a bit, then start taking care of buisness again.
