It's difficult to say anything based on 20 seconds of footage, but Marciano certainly gave Vingo one of the all-time worst beatings.
I was there at that beating inflicted on Carmine Vingo, as I have posted before. Had great seats to the fight. Poor Carmine, was a great coming New York prospect who I watched on our small rabbit ears TV set, koing his opponents.I can NEVER forget that savage beating Vingo took from the heavy handed Rocky. NEVER. What I most recall is Vingo stretched out on his back unconscious, and his foot TWITCHING violently...My dad and I thought Vingo was dying, but the ambulance quickly took him across the street from old MSG, to the Polyclinic Hospital,where they revived Vingo.Months later he was out of the hospital, walking with a cane. He was lucky. Ernie Schaaf wasn't !
