Damn HBO announcers are biased!!!!!!

Just watched this with the HBO commentary. Now I understand a little better why alot of fanboys and newbies have been claiming Klitschko dominated Haye or acting as if the fight was utterly one-sided. Merchant and Lampley were awful, cracking dumb jokes all night, and RJJ had to make fake laughing noises every time they did.

RJJ's commentary was pretty good though.

Previously I'd only watched this fight with German commentary, where the commentator was giving more rounds to Haye then I was and who was consistently praising Haye and saw the fight as even after Round 8.

I only give Haye 2 actual round but there were plenty of close rounds in this fight.

I don't give a **** who called the fight, what they said, etc, etc. This fight wasn't close, like not close at all.

 

Damn I can't believe you watched Klitschko vs Haye 6 times. You must have a lot of time on your hands or must've been really bored. That fight sucked.

 

I thought that Merchant was very biased towards Klitschko, Lampley was fine and Jones was OK as well and although you could sense that he wanted Haye to win (and was backing him up when the others wouldn't), he took a similar stance to Lampley after yet another fall.

 

I love RJJ but i don't know whether he was racist or just hated Wlad. That was silly.

 

I've watched the sky commentary. They expected much more from Haye and had it for Wlad by a landslide.

There were some close rounds, but there is no way Wlad didn't win that fight.

 

funny when pac and clottey fought they never had a bad word to say about clottey, it was all how greta pac is and clotteys a warrior for staying in there.

 

haye deserved it after all that talk, I had him losing 115-111. hbo's team is strange though, I like lampley when he is passionate in a fight but not to extreme like bang bang then its cringeworthy, merchant has his rare moments but he usually hives me the feeling that he should talk faster, the guy says 1 sentence and it takes a whole round.
He can also be a dick in the post fight interview. Kellerman seems to be talking just to make noise and sometimes it seems like he has written his lines beforehand but he is oki I guess. Jones is clearly the best on their team.

 

Dont expect to gain many friends with this post even though its what really happend, Honestly if the Amatuer scoring system was in effect likely it would have been a draw.

I was live at the fight and Klitschko beat Haye hands down.

What's funny is how Merchant and Lederman are often biased for one fighter while Lampley and Steward are biased for the other.

 

They were fine that night. At times, it looked like Haye was very capable of doing damage, and then the later half of the fight was a big letdown, and their comments reflected that.

 

Please being there live does not give you a better perspective of the fight, it basicly puts you in a worse position becuase your seated behind the judges and your not on all four sides of the ring so its impossible that you saw each and every part of the fight.

Even if your ring side its still impossible as your about 20 feet away from the ring and still on one side of the ring and on the floor level meaning you have to also look up.

Reality is fans viewing the fight at home have a much better view than fans who are ringside, becuase they get to see everything as if they are also the third man in the ring.

A perfect example of this would be when I was ringside for Tarver vs Johnson we all thought Johnson won ringside but HBO and the fans on the forums felt Tarver won.
Another fight that I went to was Hopkins vs Eastman most at the event thought there were alot of close rounds and the fight could have gone either way but when you watch it on tape Hopkins clearly won.

So get off your high ****ing horse you were at the fight whipty ****ing do, do you want a cookie now? just because you were there does not mean you got a close up view of everything that took place.

 

They are bias at times. I didnt notice it too much this fight because I kept falling asleep.

But a fight where I was very pissed about the bias was Cotto-Margarito. Lampley has an eff'n man-crush on Cotto! Every time Cotto would do something small...Lampley would make a HUGE deal out of it. And he even had the nerve to get mad at Steward and Merchant when they said Cotto might tire later in the fight! smh
