He has this million dollar training crew set around him for big bad welsh calzaghe. Roach, jackson, and shilstone all in hopkins camp for the prepping of pops. Joe just has lil ol enzo, and he'll still beat nard with his big entourage.
    Calzaghe UD 117-111.

    Bank it!

though I grow weary of the Bhop/calz hype, I will bite. What is enzo's training record recently? I seem to recall a 2nd round KO last.... Or was it too quick for the fanboys to see, analysis, and embed in their short term memory?

I wasn't singing the praises of trainer enzo, i was just saying that he is
all joe has in his corner while hopkins has this supercorner.
But, btw. Enzo is 22-1 in world title fights with 3 world champs, so he
    isn't total ****.

I feel better about this fight knowing that Shilstone is back with Hopkins. That guy knows his **** and will have Hopkins in tip top shape. Hopkins was more toned for his fight with Tarver than he was with Winky and that's because of Shilstone.

Of course Hopkins is getting the best training he can - how the hell else is he gonna have a shot at winning this fight. At 43, the odds are against him, unless Calzaghe also suddenly shows some decline.

Doubt it. Although I'm a big fan of Bernard, I think this will be the fight where he "gets old." And all the training in the world, like Ray Arcel said, "can't beat Father Time."

I know, Bhop was a whole lot stronger in there with Tarver. With winky he looked weak. He is going to need more leg strength to be able to muscle calslappy around when need be. And the guy is in his mid 40s. Thats ancient in boxing.

I gotta disagree. He didn't look weak against Winky. He actually looked fresh and had great stamina in his legs. But as you said, it's just that he looked more toned and stronger against Tarver and i think that's because it's because of Shilstone. That guy knows his **** cold. He did it with RJJ when he moved up to HW. He did it with Spinks when he moved up to HW. That guy is a fitness guru and knows how to maintain the human body for top athletes.

If BHOp just had one guy with a bucket in his corner, he would be seen as overlooking Joe C.

Nothing BHOP does will get any kind remarks from the Joe C huggers.

I understand what you're saying and all, but my point is that Joe has had enzo his whole career. Enzo knows what makes joe tick and what will get him going. If you look at it in that light, Joe has the advantage. BHops corner has big names, sure... But how many fights have they been in his corner? Surely not as long as Enzo and Joe.. Take Buddy Mcdirt as well respected trainer for example. He was in Eddie chambers corner for the first time (i believe) against Povetkin, and we all saw Chambers get mopped up when Mcdirt took over from Eddie's pops.

Nazim Richardson has been with him for well over a decade. Jackson has been a regular in HOPS camps whenever he faces southpaws, and has spared with him for years. ( He Ko'ed him when they actually fought).

Shilestone helped BHOP get into incredible shape, and Freddie Roach helped him beat Winky.

These guys aren't really that new, to BHOP or the game of boxing.

Ummm, Jackson has been in his corner for awhile now. Roach was there for Winky. Shilstone for Tarver. How does him using multiple trainers (all of which who specialize in different areas BTW) show he is worried?

I swear as the days pass and it gets closer and closer to the 19th, you Calzaghe fanatics are getting more and more irrational. It shows how worried you all truely are of "the old man".

Well Shilstone doesnt work corners...so he is out. Id imagine Jackson would differ to someone more established (tho JJD is a damn good trainer...underrated as hell) like Roach...tho he will still be in the corner.

At least that is my guess.

Is it just me or has Roach deteriorated (health-wise) real bad in the last 6 months? Old lady pointed it out during the Pac-JMM countdown, and I'd meant to keep an eye during the fight but I was too busy doing RbR here between rounds to pay attention to Freddie.
