Pacquiao, Morales, Barrera, Marquez.... Man.. what great fights have they give us the last decade... I really mis them... really hate that Pacquiao and Marquez have gone up to chase the money.. Although understandable ofcourse... But i really would ve loved if they stayed between 126-135... The could ve brought us some more good fights with Cabbalero, Juanma, Chris John, Gamboa, Valero, etc... imo much better fights then JMM Floyd, Pac FLoyd, Pac Clottey and JMM Khan And it would make these new featherweight stars immediately
I think JMM (and maybe MAB) was the only guy who moved up when he didn't have to. Morales and Pac just outgrew 126, and eventually 130. JMM moved up to 130, then 135, to chase fights with Pac. Once he was at Lightweight he got the opportunity to fight Floyd and just couldn't reject that fight. He shouldn't be fighting above 135 though. As I recall, MAB moved up to complete his trilogy with Morales and the fights he ended up having at 130 were better than the fights he could have had at 126. Having Morales, MAB, Pac and JMM all in the same weight class was fantastic though. A real golden era in those weight classes (just a shame JMM-Morales never happened).
yeah i agree with you... Both JMM and Pac got offers at Welter that they just couldn´t reject ( Floyd and Oscar)... they made more in these fights then probably in their whole career before... And with Pac keep on winning, there was no way back... JMM is old so he is probably looking for 1 or 2 cashes... But i wishes he would just go back to 135 and fight katsidis.. And after that fight the winner of Valero Demarco.. I wouldn´t be too suprised if Morales JMM will happen in the near future
