Mares might be so sheltered, naive and protected, as a life-long Golden Boy fighter, that he doesn't realize just how dirty he fights. He may think it's normal to get away with that many low blows every time out, and since he's never lost more than a single point, why not? That assumes Abner Mares is a complete ****ing moron, true, and he's still technically a dirty fighter, but he could be oblivious to it. I dislike him all the same.

Mares ain't stupid! He knew what he was doing and he knew he was going to get away with it! He was intentionally hitting low because he knew this! A boxer as skilled as Mares isn't going to miss in that area as often as he did tonight without knowing he wasn't going to get called on it!
