Well, Hoz did suffer a broken jaw and it didn't come from that shot that sent him flying back into the ropes. Hoz said it happened before that. So I really doub't he could of came back to win a UD. Possible, yes, but I really doubt it.

This win put Montiel back in my top 10 P4P rankings

I was really hoping we could have got a re-match for this one - shame that's seemingly not going to happen.

Hasegawa was doing great but I don't think he could have come back to win - he had a long way to go with a broken jaw, especially against a guy like Montiel.

Even though it's not the done thing to keep a fighter in the top 10 p4p after a ko loss, I think both of these guys should be in there. Hopefully Hasegawa can perform to the same level at 126 because there are some huge fights there if he looks good against Burgos.

Montiel was just biding his time waiting for the perfect shot. He was trying to take Hozumi's head off the whole fight.

    Terrible 'music', gah.

On the more important note of the fight itself -- I haven't seen much of both fighters, but I have to wonder why Hasegawa was being so aggressive, especially early in the fight. From those clips, it almost looks as if he was fighting like a man behind on the cards. I remember him having quick hands and compact punches -- why didn't he just try to outbox Montiel on the outside? In that video he's lunging in quite wildly. For those of you who know more about these guys, is Montiel simply too skilled for Hasegawa to outbox, and so that's why Hasegawa chose to jump on him like that? Or is that Hasegawa's usual style? (From the few clips I've seen, he normally looks a lot more composed.)
