It's easy to appear confident if you don't talk or ever change your facial expression. Cotto can be broken in the ring, we've seen him change from a confident Lion to a scared kitty before, on more than one occassion. When he sees how fast and strong Floyd is, he will break and whatever confidence and will to win he HAD, will change to fear and hope for survival. :deal
Oh for sure i just do not think it will matter in the outcome of this fight. I do not think Cotto will land frequently enough, and on the flip side Mayweather is not active enough. For sure i can be 100% dead wrong though, its just my 2 cents hope thats ok with you.
From the looks of it Cotto has been training with 18 or maybe even 20 oz gloves....shouldn't matter a whole lot.
I don't think there was any serious battle for glove sizes. I think Floyd will be happy with anything smaller than "10 oz heavyweight gloves". If Cotto asked for 10, it's likely because Pedro advised it, and he knows what's up, so there's probably not much else to it.
Trainers can do that. But ultimately, it's all down to the fighter. Nazim Richardson had the right things to say/instruct, too. But Mosley failed to put everything in practice. Same thing would have happened between Roach and Pac. And the same is going to happen with Diaz and Cotto.
Who gives a crap about the size of the gloves... According to *****s, Cotto is REJUVINATED... He's no longer shot anymore.
According to Cotto's stoppage of Margarito, he HAS TO be in a better mindset than he was when Pac fought him. It is common sense. Physically? I see nothing he was able to do back prior to Margo, that he can't do now. Still has same speed, reflexes and power. It was his confidence that was crushed, and after beating the guy who beat him, his confidence may not be what it was...but it is better than it was immediately after Margo. Physically, he's still prime Mentally, he's not quite prime but he is better than he was right after Margo I, I presume. :deal
