Funny how the hardcore pac fans are now talking about it all about the money. Yet they criticised mayweather in the past for doing the exact same thing.

Thank You!!! As a Floyd Mayweather Fan...I have (on more than one occasion) said in a sports bar, magazine, newscast, threads and post called-out and spread a lil' hate on my favorite fighter for doing and/or saying some complete bull****!!! The Fight with Mitchell and JMM...I LIT INTO HIS ASS...BIGTIME!!! Becasue I am a BOXING FAN FIRST...AND MY LOVE OF THE SPORT IS BIGGER AND HAS BEEN AROUND LONGER THAN FLOYD MAYWEATHER.

And you (and a couple of other posters) have just climbed up the CREDIBLE POSTER LIST for being a BOXING FAN FIRST!!! Calling out your favorite fighter does not make you less of a fan of that fighter...It actually makes you more of a Fan of the Sport. Thanks for having the BALLS to call this fight what it is....STRAIGHT BULL****!!! So now, lets just sit back and look at the names/posters who are still nuthugging and calling this "THE BEST OPTION".

Well Bob Arum didn't want to pay Floyd the money he wanted to face Cotto. Even Bob Arum said that.

"The reason Mayweather opted for the buyout rather than waiting for the May 6 result was because the contract had a limited window for the buyout, one that expired before the De La Hoya fight. However, Arum said he would have extended the window if Mayweather had asked. What Arum wouldn't do, he said, was raise the guarantees for other fights outlined in the contract.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2420382

"Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road.":mj

I wouldn't say Pac is shitting on his fans. In the time frame Pac will have fought Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and Mosley... meaning from Nov 2009 to May 2011, Floyd will have fought only Mosley. Yet Pac is the one criticized.

    Double-Standard

Pac fighting 4 times against top WWs in a span of 18 months is not shitting on his fans, even if 1 or 2 of those guys are not at their best or if the weight limit is not exactly 147.

If you go back to May 2009, when Pac had just destroyed Hatton, 3 of the top 4 welterweights were Mosley, Cotto, and Clottey. Margarito had just had his handwrap scandal but a couple months earlier, he was ranked #1. 2 years later Pac will have fought all four of them.

you know jack about fighters and boxing - an ATG like Shane the last thing to go is his punching power , yeah he caught Floyd clean but after round 2 he was done ,

even in a total beatdown I expect Shane to catch Manny from time to time ( Marg did ) but as a competitive fight this is a none event - just a very faded Sugar Shane gets worked over and TKO'd in the later rounds .

THis fight is a cop out - everyone wanted JMM part 3 seeing as Floyds pre-occupied with working over chicks and mall cops - @ 140 JMM would have had pac revisit the nightmare of parts I and II and thats too much risk for uncle Bob to take.

JMM was better 126 and 130 than he'll ever be at 140. Much much better. Pac vs JMM at 140 means nothing and Arum has nothing to fear.

just a damn shame really. i'm sure pacquiao will lose a few fans with this move. i'm just gutted that we'll have to wait until months AFTER this fight before (or IF) he fights a decent opponent.
    arum is a complete *****.

What Floyd does should in way effect your thought for Pacs upcoming fight.. So just because Floyd doesn't want to fight the best, Pac shouldn't either... you know that's bull****..

    Who cares about Floyd...

This is 2011 and Pac needs a fresh opponent. 2 years makes all the difference for boxers. just because these guys were the cream of the crop then doesn't make them great NOW.....

Pac sucking is nothing new to me, I knew this ever since he started weight draining fighters to get in the ring with him. I do agree this Mosley fight does not make since and Pac has nothing to gain and a lot to lose. Should Pac loose this fight, not only will this dude look bad, it will show the world how much better Floyd is as a fighter compare to Pac.

From a business perspective though is not smart to fight Berto at this point in time. If Berto could build up more buzz then a fight with Berto could be worth more money later then what it is worth right now. Mosley doesn't have potential to get any bigger while a Berto fight does. Only it should be Berto fighting Mosley to create that buzz while Pac fought Marquez.

Berto should possibly fight Marquez to try and sell a fight with Pac.
