Amazing how people are excusing this, like it's not a problem. The biggest fighters in the sport are not giving us the best fights possible. And they are not giving the younger fighters a chance to shine. They are not cut from the same cloth as the fighters before them.

Without ODLH giving Floyd and Manny an opportunity, to step into the major spotlight, neither would be where they are right now. They would still be great fighters, but, not the tremendous stars they are now. And neither would be commanding $20 million or more a fight. I respect ODLH for that. Obviously, he made a shitload of money in the process, but, he gave something back to the sport, at the same time. He put two great talents on the world stage.

Manny and Floyd won't even make the biggest fight possible, with each other, let alone give a young, hungry opponent the chance they were given by ODLH. :verysad

I respect Shane as a fighter. He's an ATG, who's been good for the sport (minus one misstep). But, unless this is a charity fight, he should not even be in the mix as an opponent for Pac, let alone the selected opponent. What glory is there in beating up on a fighter, who has not proven he can compete at this level anymore? If he were the man to beat, I'd have no complaints. But he is not, and going into this, Shane looks visibly diminished....and everyone can see it. :-(

You are stupid the TS is a PAC fan and he does not justify the pac mosley fight. If you read the thread most of them dont like the fight either. I therefore conclude you are stupid in analyzing statements.

difference is both Floyd and Pac have headlined fights with decent result, while Berto as of late is on Marquez undercard, and both did not draw much together. there aint no short cut for Berto.

Did you say anything bad about Floyd when he went into vacation rather than fight Pac?

Ok. But, this is part of the problem. It's not a shortcut. Berto has proven his mettle against the B and C level opponents. Obviously, it couldn't hurt for him to take on someone like Cotto, prior to. But, really, it's not necessary. Berto is nearly a finished product, IMO. He will, obviously, not be a technical wizard like Floyd...or develop other parts of his game like Pac had to (for lack of an amateur pedigree). Berto has the pedigree and he is shaping up to be, for the most part, an athletic fighter. Speed and power is his game. He is what he is. The time is about right, for him to step up the comp. A loss to Pac or Floyd right now, he can recover from. And his career will benefit from the experience. The sport will benefit as well.

As far as him being a draw...Pac is selling the fight. Any good B side will do. And Berto would be a marketable B side. If Pac and Clottey can do 700k on PPV and 41k in attendance, so can Pac and Berto (probably more on the PPV side).

    At 147 lbs.

    - Mosley KOs JMM
    - Mosley vs Berto will be competitive
    - Berto decision JMM

So who's the best opponent for PAC at 147 among the 3 (Mosley, Berto, JMM)?

You said the key words coming out of retirement to fight a guy who arguably beat Pac twice!!! Shane has lost his last two fights and looked Terrible in both.

    Kill yourself!!!!
