And that is precisely why it is a good idea. A guy getting his first big break is more liable to go all out than someone who knows another limelight is right around the corner. Personally I'm sick of bringing back old faces. Doing so tells them and us it's ok if you put in a subpar performance. You'll get right back in! atsch
Yeah, just like Banal? The problem with the undercard is not that the fighters are "unknown", it's that they are not in very tough fights. Concepcion, Alvarado, and Segura are all big favorites and are set up to look good tonight. Canchila has a chance of winning IMO if he gets a big shot in early, but the chances are small. I expect that to be an exciting and wild fight that ends early. Carrera doesn't have much of a chance at all, unless Concepcion really ****s up, which isn't completely out of the question because of how fragile he is. Bazan is old and not as good as he once was, but he is still a real test for Alvarado and the best opponent he's ever fought. I think that fight will be the most competitive of the night, with Alvarado stopping him late or winning a 9-3 type of decision. So all in all, this undercard is pretty damn shitty. Three prospects matched against fighters who they should be able to beat without too much trouble.
Jesus Rojas v Anyetei Laryea should be a decent fight on the non ppv portion its just about to start heres the link http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=207187&cl=8950067&ch=2567510&src=sports
I like Cotto's girlfriend/wife she has some serious breasts. They just showed Cotto arriving with his family and friends
Definitely possible, but Bazan is still tough as hell. I'm not high on Alvarado.. he has defensive issues that even an old fighter like Bazan could take advantage of and I worry a little about his chin.
i agree a bit, the undercard doesn't have that sense of PR-mex rivalry and they should have done it like that. But i think its not that bad considering we could see a lot of mexican prospects, but not so live opponents imo
Laryea v Rojas is very entertaining fight on now on yahoo. They are saying Rojas is reminiscent of a young Cotto he is 12-0 10 kos
