Not if he's facing completely outmatched opponents the majority of the time.

The bottom line is, if Floyd were to have fought in the era of the truly elite fighters like Jose Napoles and Carlos Ortiz, he'd have either avoided them to no end or gotten shown up. No way in hell he's ever beating fighters of that caliber.

Saying Floyd is not great is a very stupid statement. It takes ignorance to call somebody as talented and accomplished as Floyd not great. He may not be as great as he claims to be but he is great. He was the most dominant fighter of the last decade. Manny was the fighter of the decade and he had great accomplishments and fights and titles but he never took anybody apart like Floyd and made it so easy. I am a big fan of both fighters but I feel like after a HOF career Floyd still needs to beat a Moseley or a Pacqiao to get any recognition what so ever

I think nobody have problem with Mayweather's career before Gatti
when he was climbing up weight classes going after bigger challenges.

This is where is PAC now. But from some time ago there was apparent
trend in Floyd's desire to fight fighters who are still challenging in
some way (Judah, Baldomir, Hatton, DLH, Marquez) but leaving out
a bit bigger challenges on side (Margarito, Williams, Mosley, Cotto, PAC).
Floyd's way aint that bad but people who really like to see him exceptional
feels that he are cheated from seeing really great 'fighter'.
Floyd did not act recently the way people expect from ATG
this mean target the biggest treats even risking his unbeaten status.

Hopefully Floyd realized his mistake and we will see true pretender to #1 ATG in him
