I find this to be a really good choice, not necessarily for the blood thirsty fans, but for his health and his future. He's already seemingly on the downturn of his prime and his style dictates this is a good choice for him. However, I would not be surprised at all either if he comes out soon and fights again. He will feel differently in a month likely, and after he looks at his paycheck from his construction job he may find the desire to lace them up a few more times.

Wolak was a fan-friendly fighter, hate to lose those kind. With him retiring this soon after losing a fight you have to wonder if he sticks with his decision. There were a lot of guys I would have liked to see him still face but it seems like he kept himself in position where he can stay retired if he chooses.

Good for him; bad for boxing fans. Hopefully he is content with his decision and able to be successful in his next endeavors.

If those were his last two fights, he went out like a warrior.

Probably one of the most exciting fighters right now has retired:/

But it's a good decision. His style made him take many punches. This guy has family and there's no need for him to damage his brain any longer. One or two more fights like this and he can end up with Parkinson's or sth like this.

On the other hand I think it was quite an emotional decision and that he may return
Maybe droping down weight division would be a good idea? He wouldn't be one of the smallest guys there

Wolak did the smartest thing he could for boxing. Retire, live healthy with his family by his side. Not gonna lie, I would love to see him fight more am a huge fan of his. Boxing is a brutal sport, the reward is great... but the risk is high.

congrats to Pawel "The Ragging Bull" Wolak.

Yup. I'll miss him, but there are more important things, like his health and family, than my bloodlust on any given Saturday night.

Sad news, I enjoyed watching him this year.

If the decision was for the sake of his family, I think he's less likely to come back.

he'll be back...the way he fights, they'll definately offer him some fights with up and comers......but if he does decide, then thanks for the few fights that i've seen...great fighter with a huge heart and a stupid ridiculous chin

A lack of defense will do it to ya. I notice in order to become a warrior all you have to do is take unnecessary punishment.

Maybe that's your definition. But most call a boxer a 'warrior' who has shown great heart as well. And the ability to keep fighting to win even if the odds are stacked against them. Warriors newver stop trying.
