I've been reading a lot of the Damon Runyon columns covering Dempsey and have a bit of new insight .. Dempsey never had a trainer for any fight before DeForest for Willard ... Dempsey had his own nickname for his favorite power hand, his right, in his early days .. Iron Mike. Yup. Bill Brennen thought he had the second fight won before the opening bell .. he swears he saw Dempsey's legs shaking as they posed for pictures .. who knows why ..
