never said proud, just said it wasnt farm country and to imply that they are hillbillys is way off base.
I don't know about Goossen protecting Paul Williams, but Goossen definitely has taken a bad habit of protecting some of his fighters during the last years. James Toney is desperate for a meaningful fight to get back in the mix - well, Chris Arreola and Manny Quezada both wanted to fight him. These would all have been good cross-roads fights, who generated much interest in Cali. But Goossen didn't want to risk his young HWs against the old faded Toney (he promotes all of them). Same with Eddie Chambers and Malik Scott, who he also promotes (well, in case of Chambers it's understandable since he'll fight for a title soon). Toney Thompson, another Goossen fighter, was set to face Toney a year ago, but he pulled out stating a small injury - that's ok, but the fight was never rescheduled and Thompson fought somebody else, and this stinks... So yes, Goossen is protecting his fighters, at least those that he thinks he can earn easy money with...
without passing judgment on anyone...whether its who is being hard in contract negotiations or who pulled out or when or protecting, etc...i think we can all agree on the following three things... 1. Kelly Pavlik is no joke 2. Paul Williams is no joke 3. Sergio Martinez is no joke what is a joke is that kelly has to fight sergio when sergio just lost to paul williams. i'm not in the room w/ arum and goosen so i can't sit here and like i can recite the minutes to you or anything like that. but this is a joke.
I think pw will kill PAVLIK maybe not with power but with relentness combo's and a very high work rate. BH dont have near the hand speed nor the work rate of pw and we all saw what BH did to him.
Exactly--so I say again--How in the world can you NOT see that Paul Williams is avoiding Kelly like the plague???? Pauls true colors are shining and they are looking Yellow.
If I see you on the "Paul Williams Express" again I'm gonna throw you off face first!!! We don't like freeloaders. Get on that train that has been in Youngstown station parked for 2 1/2 years!
