"MMANews.com: What are your thoughts on Paulo Filho?

Dan Henderson: I don't think he has been very impressive in his last two performances since coming to the US but I think that's what not being able to use Steroids will do to you.

MMANews.com: Are you saying Filho may be a juicer?

Dan Henderson: Well that's my opinion anyway. He hasn't looked good since he left Pride.

MMANews.com: Was steroid abuse a problem in Pride?

Dan Henderson: People didn't get tested.

MMANews.com: So I suppose if you can get away with it why not.

    Dan Henderson: Exactly."

    Dangerous Dan, keeping it real.

I don't think anyone will disagree with Dan. Steroids are cheaper than protein powder in Brazil.

If he thinks that way he was probably on the juice in his pride fights too.

And who really gives a ****? It was within the rules of the organization, and what people put into their bodies is their business.

Hell yeah. MMA is a dirty sport, get used to it. It's probably 2nd to cycling in that way.

I don't have any problem with 'roids in theory; it's only the fact that one fighter can have better juice than other fighter that is a problem.

Cycling is probably the worst. I think MMA is right there with a lot of combat sports, but the dirtiest sport I have ever personally encountered is track and field. I knew some sprinters and throwers in college, and those guys were walking chemistry experiments.

I do not personally have a problem with steroids. Like a lot of things, the negative media campaign against them has tarnished them to the point that the true benefits of the drugs have been overshadowed. Even in cases were they could be legally prescribed, doctors are unwilling to because of the scandals. They truly are wonder drugs, and properly used can greatly increase the quality of life of someone training for sport. If you want to use supplementary hormones, you should be able to go to a doctor and get them, no questions asked. And under that doctor supervision, you can use as you please. Why is it that women can go to the doctor, and no questions asked, receive hormones (birth control) that effect the endocrine system and cause physical changes (although not changes that are positive for physical performance, as these drugs are catabolic) in the same manner as steroids?

But I'll stop, because I could probably write 10 pages on the subject. And in modern society, personal responsibility has long gone by the wayside. Weed is illegal, so God knows steroids don't have a chance.

Yes, because UFC fighters do not use steroids.

Dan does seem a little uptight. His immaturity and scorned lover act over how Randy left their gym is getting tiresome.

I don't know who does and who doesn't and I'm not claiming to. But if you have one organization that doesn't test, and one organization that does you have to take that into account when comparing the two. There is a much greater likelihood that Pride stars were juicing then UFC stars, strictly that in Pride there was no penalty for doing it.

Theres penaltys in ALL sports regarding hormone abuse. Up till now it has made NO DIFFRENCE as athletes look to increase there performances. The vast majority of professional athletes ARE willing to take the risk. The fact that PRIDE didnt even test makes it even more immaterial in my opinion.
