Exactly. I couldn't believe how stupidly he was fighting. Even after his corner yelled at him the whole time to move away from Hendo's right. Everyone in the stands knows you should move away from Hendo's right. And the takedown attempt??? I wonder if Bisping was literally scared out of his mind? I haven't seen anything like it since the Kalib Starnes disaster.
...yet Brock is bad for MMA because he says and acts like a WWE character after a fight, what Henderson did after he knocked out Bisping is nothing short of assault and he admitted so himself. It is utterly disgusting and criminal.
Let's not get carried away. Should we file charges against Rocky Marciano? He hit Jersey Joe Walcott with a left hook while he was draped across the ropes in the thirteenth round and was awarded the heavyweight championship of the world for it. It's called fighting and they are supposed to do just that until the referee pulls them apart.
The punch Marciano threw at the end in the 13th if its the one I'm thinking about is nothing much more then a Joe Calzaghe slap with the man down on a knee and not in the condition Bisping was in, when boxers take a knee from the knock down you often see them get tagged. I also don't mind when the ref has to dive in, in this MMA stuff to stop the winner as you've got to do what you have to win and finish a guy. HOWEVER, Bisping was out stone cold on the mat, the fight was clearly over to everyone including Henderson and what he did was try to really hurt an already unconscious man and him admitting so is just the icing on the cake. Roy Jones got DQ'd for hitting a man while he is down but in this game of human **** fighting you get the typical fight fan laughing about it and glad Bisping got it cause he "talked" a lot. To me what Henderson did is so much more then putting on a show for the cameras like Brock did, he tried to hurt a man already out, completely defenceless and pre-meditated, it's criminal and there is no other word for it, things like this will result in someone's death.
It probably will take a death before before some of these bloodhtirsty fans will realise the danger of soemthing like that. If it was a spur of the moment, part of a flurry punch it could have been a different story, it does happen (see some of Gary Goodrige's wins) but he waited that second or so before leaping on him when he was down and openly admitted to doing it maliciously. Hell, even in another interview Ive seen online after the event, he tries to defend it and say it WAS a spur of the moment thing, but he was saying it trying his very hardest not to laugh.
You reap what you sow.Bisping asked for it and got it!Perhaps he will be a little more respectful around Henderson from here on in.:good
I don't think the Henderson shot was uncalled for, its not like he hit him when the ref stopped it. Fighters have to do go 100% until the ref stops it, its not up to them to go easy even if he knew it as over.
Fatcity: So talking a lot of **** to promote a fight = the right to do anything you want to do to the fighter when it's over? Bull****, if the guy even had an announce of class he would have moved away, seeing someone wanting to do that level of damage after a fight to another human being for saying some "mean words" is completely and utterly disgraceful. You're a grown up, PROFESSIONAL athlete...****ing act like one. Because the ref might stop it in Bispings favour or that Bisping might recover...I am guessing somewhat like the Undertaker out of the WWF when I was 6...bull**** mate, he knew the fight was over, the ref knew the fighter was over and he threw that punch before the ref could get in between the 2.
From the slo mo gif's in another thread (video here is unavailable), it looks as if bisping goes down and immediately puts his hands up (as if to defend himself or something) and hendo leaps to finish him. bisping's arms come down and he appears out of it, but at that point hendo's flown threw the air and is about to strike again to force the stoppage. It's probably poor quality video gif, but it looks as if hendo is just pouncing on the guy who collapsed to end the fight and it wasn't totally apparent that bisping is 'out cold' (which he appears in the slo mo gif but he was moving) till it was about too late (hedo could've maybe pulled the punch a lil but it was in the process).
What Hendo did was the samething Tank did years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ac5EqLZ9pM&feature=related Now my question is this. Everyone is all over Brock for talking smack after winning his fight, but is it as bad a what Hendo did or Tank did? I don't care much. If you are going to talk, you better be able to pay the price. Hendo over his career has been a class act. For him to do an extra shot on The Count, then he must have ticked him off big time.
