I agree but I dont think thats why he pulled out of the fight. If that was the case, why is the fight still moving forward on PPV?

its funny how only 3000 tickets were sold and suddenly the fight gets postponed and Floyd says he is a draw, I would be willing to bet that 2999 of those tickets where purchased in mexico:hey

What Dan Rafael said is simply true. He also should say the same thing about Manny... Right now at this moment, there is no DLH or Tyson or even a Tito who could sell good PPV numbers... Are Manny and Mayweather the most known right in boxing? True, but right now they both need big names to sell over 500K or 600K in PPV buys. This is simple lets just look at their past fights before Hatton and DLH, and lets count their PPV buys. :good

So what about Mayweather/Judah and Mayweather/Baldomir. They were two profitable ppvs. They did good #s. You have to define good #s. Mayweather only made about 3-4 mill in the judah fight. Judah made 1 mill. The Baldomir fight Mayweather made 8. Both were sellout crowds I believe. That was 17.5 mill profit. That is good money especially for the Judah fight in which somebody other than the fighters got the lions share. I think you need to think before you speak.

I dont think selling out a crowd is much of the problem, when it comes to a Mayweather or Manny... A lot of fighters could sell out a crowd, its the PPV buys, which both fighters are being blind and taking full credit for the numbers of Hatton and DLH.

The two fights you mention Judah vs Mayweather did about 350,000 to 375,000 and that being price at $44.95 not the usual $49.95 in most places.

For the the Baldomir he did 325,000 buys "undisputed champ rights"

For the popular and warrrior R.I.P. Gatti an estimated 340,000 buys.

These are good numbers, but then again these numbers many other fighters in the sport of boxing have reach. Once again he is not a Tyson, DLH, or even a Tito level when it comes to bragging about selling PPV buys.

You can if you consider his pay per view numbers with Judah and Baldomir. Why didn't those fights generate numbers even close to DLH/ Tito or DLH/Vargas? Fact is...most were interested in the DLH and Hatton fights because Floyd plays a pretty good villain when faced against a popular fighter with a large fan base.

This is the most fair post that can be posted here. Oscar has been the draw in everyone of his fights. With that said, Floyd did add up to numbers that Oscar never did with anyone else.

There is no Strong A side in the biz right now.

Just strong B sides. With Floyd being the biggest / strongest.

**** the Global economic crisis...if the Media would have never mentioned reccession no one else would have either. I still do what I have been doing which is buy fights. Buying a fight isn't like going...that's where the PPV numbers come in. How hard is it to split 50-60 bucks up between friends? Bull****

Judah had just lost...Baldo was Baldo a person that absolutely no general fan knew...based on those two points, Floyd did those numbers by himself...period. You could have replaced those two fighters with any two randoms and he would have sold the same.

Neither one of those fights sold out. Mayweather-Judah was nearly sold out, but not quite. Mayweather-Baldomir didn't come close to selling out. The attendance for Mayweather-Judah was slightly over 15k, while less than 10k were in attendance for Mayweather-Baldomir.

You guys have forgotten that the promotion of this fight had not even started yet. Most of the press on this fight came from announcing the fight. The promotion did not even get off the ground yet. Rafael is nothing but a hater and a pale, fat hog.

Dlh and Hatton brought their fans, and big money period if you keep it real. Both PAc and Floyd benefitted off of their last two opponents marketability as well as their own. Both Pac and Floyd have done ok ppv wise before fighting Hatton and Dlh also. Dlh and Tyson were ppv bonanza's during their prime/time...period!
