If that's his opinion then he has every right to express it. I disagree with him and always look forward to the prospect of Rigo fighting myself however
The same planet where Adrien Broner makes that much to fight guys like Molina. HBO has money. Lomachenko's opponents aren't making anything. His last opponent, on the Bradley-Rios undercard, made $35,000, while Lomachenko made close to a million. If they want a fight for their new star, they can pay it. When guys like Rigondeaux knock off fighters HBO tabs as stars ... like Donaire ... HBO holds a grudge. They've been doing that with boxers who knock off their stars for years. They praise them when the upset is occurring in the ring, and then their fangs come out when it comes to negotiating future purses. Because they're still ****ed they invested in the other guy, and this fellow upset the applecart.
@dubblechin......agreed....good stuff loma is a perfect pairing for hbo with ggg....the same way they liked having the donaire/pac pairing to push
It's pathetic that this happens in boxing, but you're exactly right. They either get murdered on future purses, screwed in future decisions, or in some cases, blackballed from the network altogether. No other sport could possibly get away with it...it'd be like an unknown golfer winning a tournament and the PGA banning him for upstaging Tiger.
Skill and talent have nothing to do with being boring in the ring. Some people dislike certain styles. If Dan was claiming Rigo was an unskilled bum, then I could see why people would complain.
Rigo said 1.5 mil $ is too little to fight Loma. He's delusional and arrogant like Ward. no surprises they are both signed with Roc Nation.
I like watching Rigondeaux. He's amazing. Then again, I find extraordinaire defensively skilled fighters amazing.
