    Mayweather Jr. himself (while "retired") said that Dawson was p4p #1 at the time.

    Floyd Sr., however - thought Chad didn't have what it takes between the ears or behind the breastplate to match his talent. It seems the crazy old man lobbed his horseshoe a bit nearer the pin than his pride and Joy this time..:think

    Also like it or not it was also a good chance to get some more exposure in a market that is pretty influencial in that division ==> quebec. Trust me no one in Quebec's gona begrudge Dawson for beating Diaconu. They just wanna see a good fight. And considering the road back to the top probably includes a Pascal rematch or a Bute match (the plan pre PAscal and pre-bute jumping to Showtime). Looking at the styles I see no reason why Dawson would be worried about fighting Diaconu. Last time round he ducked him cause HBO wanted to see him fight one of the old dogs in the division for the like the ump-teenth time instead of fight an up and coming fighter with out very good name recognition. This time round I imagine its promotional. This is not good news because it he's off the card then he probably isn't in line to face the winner.

    The fight is on. The "issues" worked out. This had to be about money.
    Dawson's side probably squeezed a few extra bucks out of HBO.

    the fights back on and appearantly it was diacanu who wasnt going to sign on due to problems with his promoter interbox. so all this dawson hate was uneccesary

    At first it was Diaconu but now it was Dawson's management team. They both had issues to solve.
