I'm sorry to burst you bubble, but the UK is not the center of the world. Heck, it's not even the center of Europe. Your population of 61 million is less than Germany, 1/3 size of Russia, and a bit bigger than the Ukraine. There's no reason to believe that Haye is a bigger star in Europe than the Klitschko.Furthermore, there's no proof.

I agree. I think both Haye and Wkad are marketable in America and, built up properly, a fight over there would demand huge money. I'd like to see GBP and HBO try to work something out. Maybe Haye vs. Adamek on the same night as Wlad/Povetkin and both shown on HBO? Perfect hype. Or even the Haye/Harrison fight HBO wanted. At least Haye would look unstoppable.

That would be a really good idea, but apparently HBO is happier with adamek and arreola than haye wlad.

The proof is the fact that the stalling point is Wlad wanting the money Haye brings, which is more than 50% of the TV money. There's more money here than Germany, Russia and any other country you want to name.

900,000 buys for Haye vs. Valuev? Where's the proof? Where's the link. As I explained earlier, I searched for it and found nothing but rumors and posts on boards like this one. What I did find, however, was a link to an article on the Guardian website. They reported that Haye earned 1 million pounds to fight Valuev. Far, far less than any of his fans will admit to.

It's a shame they've shown more faith in Arreola than Wlad.

Kind of shows just how important money is. HBO were desperate for a Mexican heavyweight for that demographic to get behind.

I think Wlad is genuinely interested in fighting Haye on what Wlad considers a fair 50/50 split of the pot. "Desperate" as in "accepting any financial demands no matter what" is a bit of a stretch I believe.

Why should Wlad get desperate? Would it help?I I think he is trying what he possibly can, desperation rarely helps.

If you're after a woman and you're asking her out, making her offers, call her to meet up that's one thing. But desperately sacrificing your pride and going after her no matter even after she makes it clear that she is not interested is usually a recipe for disaster.

I read your British press, they might not mention Wlad all that much but I see his name a lot more then Haye's. In fact most the articles I read name Wlad as the HW Champion and Haye gets the also-rans. Haye gets a lot of writeups in the rags...bastions of honest and unbiased reporting that they are.

Your reading comprehension flee you or you just really don't want to own up to what you are saying?

You are saying your nation ONLY cares about you own nations boxers and the matches between them. That means boxing suffers from a form of incest there. It breeds with itself. But this attitude has been encouraged for centuries by the 'aristocratic, institutionalized incest' that the rest of the world sees as your monarchy. "Royal blood" if you wish. :pukke

What there is is no proof. I have researched the claim that Haye vs. Valuev got 800,000 buys....guess what I found. That's right! Nothing. No reputable new source that I found supported those figures. Not surprisingly, what I found was a lot of links to boxing forums like this one. That's where the rumor began. Also, Haye earned less than 1 million pounds for that fight. That I can prove. It was reported in the Guardian. There goes your claim that Haye earned more against Valuev than he would have against a Klitschko. According to the Guardian, he did not. :patsch

Well if that is such a sure thing then let Haye make all those blockbuster 1 million PPV sales with guys like Harrison, Chagaev and Valuev. What does he need Wlad for?

He should stop mentioning Wlad and say "Sorry Wlad, sorry boxing fans, not interested anymore". Oh wait isn't he doing exactly that? :think

Don't forget what CHEF said. Wlad said something about Haye consistently coming back with another demand. Kind of like his fans change the goal posts on a daily basis. All of this is really a red herring. Had Wlad agreed to it, there would have been another demand.

He wants Wlad to prove he's the best. He has gone through with huge challenges all his life, been the underdog, got knocked down and come back. The only people who think Haye is a ducker, are those who know very little about his history.
