Dan Rafael Expects Floyd-Cotto 2 To Happen Next

Back in 2009 I said I thought it would happen in 2012. I was wrong.

But since then I've said the only way it happens is if both lose or if Mayweather is gunning for 50-0, which would happen to be the fight after the end of his guaranteed contract with Showtime. And I still stand by that.

 

I agree. My point is that rematches are not pointless as the other poster made it sound.

 

Gotta admit that's a lot of damn rematches among 3 contemporary legends...

Honestly from my list there are several that were unwarranted or there were perhaps a better fight or two out there instead, but how can they just be completely ignored? I understand giving less credit for rematching a previous dominant victory i.e. Wlad/Thompson II but even in that fight, I mean, Wladimir dominated another fringe-ranked HW who went on to beat Price X2 and Solis and honestly stamped himself a notable HW in the era so what's the complaint really? (rhetorical question)

 

Those rematches Manny was in are some of the greatest fights of that era. Cotto/May isn't.

 

I expect Dan to gain at least 10 lbs. before the weekend is over.
