Dan Rafael: GGG and Canelo have agreed to fight at 160, but not Until Fall 2017.

So rumours are that Canelo will fight GGG--probably in Sep 17, as I've been predicting, and now the GGG might be shot by then excuses are starting to pile up.

Why is this not surprising. Big Drama Queen Show continues.

 

He has no intention of making the fight IMO. He's just trying to maintain some credibility whilst selling other fights against lesser opposition.

I see it didn't take you long at all to spot some of the drivel and unreasonable posters around here. It's one thing to understand the business aspect of boxing and why fights get made or not, but some people (like the person you quoted who I long since blocked) seem to support it. Worrying about other mens money as if they were getting a piece :rofl

There is so much talk about A side this and B side that and who should get what, but as fans - who cares? All we should want is to see is the best fight the best and when fighters hide behind their clout, they should be called out for it by the people who put them in that position, us.

As for the actual thread topic, I think one of the two will lose before fall of 2017 unless they get matched up easy to ensure the fight happens. Just glad they're taking some sort of step to making this fight. Canelo's "warrior" status should be put back in closet until it happens though. So much for "we'll put the gloves on right now"...

 

Yes he is. Problem is, Alvarez could very well lose before Fall 2017 if he's going to fight real middleweights between now and then. Plus, Golovkin will still likely be an absolute wrecking machine 15 months from now. In Fall 2017, does Alvarez finally submit to being taken out to the shed and spanked at that point? I don't think so.

 

You had to be a dummy to think Canelo was ever going to step into the ring against GGG.

Alvarez will lose right now if he fights the best juniors middle's.

He gets reckt right now by even the perennial MW contenders.

Last i heard he was targeting a British level paper champ at 154 nobody ever heard about.
