If they turn this down they are ducking. Ggg isn't going to get more than that he's the b side here. 15 million is more than generous for a guy who did less than 100k in buys in his last ppv. Lastly anyone who defends ggg here if they decline can't be taken seriously for real boxing debate as they have no credibility and are nothing but fanbois.

Let's put this into perspective here as far as money goes and fighters who had the "Belts" making concessions to the PPV draw.

Now I know this was 12 years ago and the economics are different, but hear me out.

Oscar de la hoya, a fighter who had already fought a who's who of Top Elite fighters was a 6 division champion, The biggest Draw in boxing and PPV king at that time netted an All time high Purse of 30 million dollars, and rightfully so, he was the Aside in the equation..PERIOD.

Hopkins who had 3 out of the 4 major Belts, who had a way better resume than GGG right now, took 10 million which was his highest payday upto that point, took the money and took the fight because he was confident enough in his ability to beat Oscar. Now Hopkins going into that fight didn't have the hype of GGG, which was why he never crossed over to a PPV star, like others who have made their name off of Oscar, like Floyd and Pac.

Point is GGG will be making a career high 15 mill, and Canelo Roughly 30-35 mill I'm guesstimating, why doesn't GGG have the fortitude to concede here? If he wins, he becomes a star... it's a no Brainer, he should take the offer and stake his claim like Hopkins, Floyd, Pac ect.

Huge GGG fan but he has to take 15 mil. No brainer. It's not Floyd Pac.

    Good historical knowledge.

I'm feeling positive that this will be signed eventually, I just think we need to be patient and wait for all the details to be worked out. Because the contract won't be signed until all of that is worked out, including:
    - purse split obviously
    - exact date and location
    - network in other countries apart from the US
    - promotional costs
    - undercard. Will any K2 fighters get a chance?
    - VADA or not?
    - clauses if GGG or Canelo lose before, certainly possible. Does the fight get cancelled? Or a purse reduction?
    - rematch clause or not? Money split for the rematch if there is a clause?
    - etc.

So let's be patient, K2 just finalised Jacobs today and it's the weekend, with Christmas coming don't expect them to sign until January at the earliest IMO. I'm pretty sure it happens.

P.S. For the record I agree with the analysis, $15 million seems a reasonable offer and should be accepted.

You really don't have a clue do you? This fight won't be second to only pbf-pac it won't be within 100000 light years of it hell it won't even do pbf-cotto or pbf-mosley numbers wtf are you talking about? When has ggg shown that he had the ability to do 1 million buys in ppv? This is the same ggg that did less than 100 k in buys in ppv you ggg fans are delusional. 2nd biggest fight of our time lmfao this fight will be lucky to do 800k in buys. Ggg isnt pbf or pac he doesn't draw like them you're high.

    Thanks bro!

I just looked at those fight purses for both Oscar and Hopkins and what their buying power would be worth today, so it turns out 30 million in 2004 is worth 38 mill today. 10 million in 2004 is worth 12 million .......today.. is it really fair to say GGG with the same Belts, but a slimmer resume deserves more than 15 million dollars for Canelo? Hopkins knew his place he took less money and won..GGG is at a bigger advantage than Bhop was then, due to his popularity so his star would skyrocket if he beat Canelo. He needs to take the offer.

3G just signed to face Jacobs. That's his priority. And, GBP went form 10 flat to 15 flat. Bluff on the original offer called, got a better. I'll worry about this after 3G defeats Jacobs. BTW, there's nothing of this offer, other then the tweet.

This. People need to calm down, can you imagine Golovkins team having a public discussion over the Canelo contract while still trying to finalize the Jacobs fight.

I agree. Take the 15 mill purse but load up the rider so all the GGG hangers on get comped at Oscar's expense. Tell Oscar a $2 million bonus for no rehydration clause and as a freebie Sanchez will STFU.

**** BJS, move up and fight 168 for another few fights with maybe a CW of 172 with Ward to finish then retire.
