    According to Rafael, the fight could easily surpass $500M in revenue based on all the forms of revenue coming in. Arum is stating that the live gate is expected to be $74M. Each fighter also gets to pick who sings their national anthem.

    We've all been bickering back and forth for years about who's fault it is that the fight took so long to make. If these numbers are accurate, than I have to take my hat off to both parties. They've played the game perfectly and will reap the benefits. I'd be surprised if either guy ever fights a different opponent.

    Let me know when Dan Rafael is an economist.

    First off, you don't have to be an economist to forecast fight revenue. Second, someone is telling Rafael these numbers and he's reporting them. It's not like he's coming up with this on his own. The live gate number is probably pretty accurate. We'll see after the fight how much money the fight ends up making.

    So apparently, they jacked up the ticket prices because of the high demand. Very few will be available to the public. They're estimating over $120M from non ppv revenue. Here's what Arum had to say about it;

    "Between the gate, the foreign television sales and the closed circuit, which we can't even calculate yet, you're looking at over $120 million. And that's before one pay-per-view has been sold in the U.S.,"

    Here's what he said about the timing of the fight;

    "We wouldn't have gotten a fraction of these numbers if we made the fight five years ago," Arum said, referring to the original negotiations in late 2009 and early 2010 that failed and led to years of on-and-off talks. "It turned out that we're doing the fight at the right time, I guess, not that we're geniuses for waiting this long."

    Well, I am not contributing. Hopefully, neither do most real boxing fans.

    I'm pretty sure most real and fake boxing fans will be watching this fight; plenty of non fans as well.

    With that kind of money there's no excuse why the undercard shouldn't feature marquee talent.

    You would think so, but just the opposite is true. Because of how much interest is being generated from the main event, there is no real need to spend much money on the undercard. I would hope that they put on some good undercard fights, but there is no financial incentive to do so.

    Just seems obvious that the spotlight of the main event should be used to shine a light on fighters whom are potentially budding stars which benefits the sport as a whole.

    GGG, Broner, etc. ought to be getting this type of platform as potential future PPV stars.

    I love how you jump to conclusions oh so quickly, you must be hella fun at parties.

    I can easily afford to watch the fight, and so can everyone in my circle. But instead we are gonna go to the cottage, have a great time and watch it in recording.

    5 years ago I would have bought it. Today, not a chance. Floyd will have to use someone else's money to shove down hooker's g-string.
