http://espn.go.com/sports/boxing/blog/_/name/rafael_dan/id/5363601/haye-all-bark-no-bite Also has a dig at Froch ^That one is a Frank Warren style diss right there. Looks like Rafael's been taking lessons from the master. Some of the stuff Warren says about Khan and Calzaghe, while I don't agree with all of it is hilarious.
Funny stuff but pretty poor content from a bloke who's supposed to be a journalist. Like you say, very like a certain promoters boxing column.
yeh rafael is the boxing writer in the us you can take least serious. shame he is probs the most read.
That fat **** is always ripping Brit fighters. As a journalist he is completely bias. Mind you, the Americans seem to enjoy reading him. He comes out and says stuff that he would like to be true but really knows **** all. I don't know if he's noticed but Emanuel Steward usually says anything that makes his current fighter look good.
Bert Sugar says **** you and if you had his ability to make up stories you'd be twice as popular :good
Colin Hart is geniune. I may not agree with everything he says, in fact I disagree with a sizeable amount, but he is geniune. Sugar, on the other hand, is a bullshitter with a vivid imagination...
At least there's this; he's been openly anti-Haye for quite a long while now. He doesn't hide it. It reminds me of Ron Borges, who for the better part of a decade used to run down Lewis and get in a Lewis-related insult in most of the boxing columns he did for a while even when the article didn't involve Lewis. If Haye can get Rafael eventually singing his praises as, amusingly, Borges does about Lewis these days, then Haye will have done something extremely right. But we all know the solution - fighting Wlad and beating him. Theory needs to become practice.
