Well, the argument against that is the fight just before it floyd had 2.4 million buys, so obviously floyd carries a fan base of about 800,000 - 1 mil people.

Pretty much the same as pac now.

    A little experiment:

Here's another Dan Rafael article citing PPV king Floyd Jr. needing a bigger venue.

Let's see if the same posters criticizing Dan Rafael on the recent Pac article will say something bad about this one. Let's see where the balance of hatred falls.

The main thing people seem to be criticising him for is trying to compare it to Mayweather's ppv's before he was as much of a draw as he is now.

What that has to do with an article about needing a bigger venue for a fight with Hatton only you know.

Unlike the Pac article, Dan Rafael is already anticipating Floyd's PPV success before the fight even takes place. In the Pac article, he states facts after numbers have been already reported, and he gets called here a pig for reporting it.

He's anticipating it because De La Hoya told him how it is tracking compared to their fight, so he was just going off that to get the figure if the buy rate stayed the same, it didn't and the fight made nowhere near that.

Again though he's getting a hard time for comparing them to Mayweather's ppv's before he was anywhere near the draw he is now which is a poor effort on his part at making the ratings seem better than they are (not that they are bad btw)

Both Mayweather and Pacquiao both became attractions from their fights with De La Hoya so comparing what one did before that to what another did after is pointless, that includes both fighting Marquez as a ppv attraction which I've done myself in the past.
