Dan Rafael: "Prime Tyson > Prime Lewis"

I've always preferred Tyson to Lewis despite it being a bit of an illogical opinion.

Prime Tyson just seemed special.

Tyson's career is one of the most schizophrenic in boxing history.

 

It's strange that Lewis is over-rated in America, and prime Tyson seen as the best-ever in Britain.

 

you won't find many brits that think a prime tyson was the "best ever". i haven't seen any on here.

Douglas, Mccall and Rahman were very capable fighters.

 

If Rahman could land that shot on Lewis, Tyson of 1987 would have done it 4 rounds sooner.

I agree 100%, at least with the 'casual' fans. Well, except Ali of course. I saw a chick on Facebook, who I know has pretty much never watched boxing, say "so hungover...felt like I've been punched by Mike Tyson!!". He's a legend of the sport, definitely.

Lewis and Tyson are my favourite heavyweights. But Dan Rafael is being an idiot, that is to say, he's just being himself.
McCall and Rahman were not journeymen. They were contenders, in fact, up until a few years ago, they were still contenders! In their 40's! I know that's mainly due to the crappy division of today, but still...
Saying Tyson was unbeatable in his prime is a flat out lie. And, Buster Douglas was not exactly an atg. Tyson, in his prime, got his ass handed to him beaten up over 10 rounds, by a guy who ain't that much better if at all, then McCall was.
