Well, if he really does have severe neurological damage, I wish him the best and a speedy recovery.

Either way, his career is over for me. I won't be watching him again whether he laces them up again or not.

In the interview after the fight, himself & Lowe made no excuses. They said he was a little ill a week before but was fine on fight night.

That's different. He could have had it treated but he was skipping the doctor's appointments.

Bob Arum said it. So Arum was lying about his own fighter?

What a silly excuse...Dan Rafael and Gary Shaw......two old friends.....

Dont believe that ****! dirrel is fine and he will fight on....very soon.

I wonder why Dirrell did not must pull out of the Ward fight when it was scheduled in september, when he had the same symptoms since the Abraham fight.

**** your silly excuse Dirrel and your ugly crooked entourage.

why? because this is what dirrells uncle says? if its true then i wish him the best, but claiming his career could be over will make his return that much more triumphant and courageous. this whole thing reeks of BS, its seven months after the fight and he just now claims to have headaches and be dizzy? like he hasnt had any checkups since the abraham fight?

That sort of damage from 1 clean punch? And why did it take 6 months for it to come it? Why not when the Ward fight was first under negotiations in September?

Really? It's taken decades for them to notice the damage done by concussions to several football players.

ok lets be real here. what punch has AA ever thrown that looked hard?

if he ever threw a true haymaker with his body turning into the punch he just may kill someone. all of his punches are arm punches and all look very weak but he continues to put people to sleep. not saying dirrell isnt faking but none of AA punches look like Bombs, but they all go to sleep from them, look at that weak ass looking punch he hit taylor with? but damn it was damn near career ending he was sleep before he hit the ground. AA has the George for Man hands, if he slapped one of us he might ko us

christ, look up post concussion syndrome and find your answers. The team probably were hoping the symptoms would resolve themselves over a period of time.

The guy in all likelihood had at least two fights left in the tournament, well over $1 million coming his way. Pass that up because he didn't want to box his friend? Don't think so.

The poll at tis board (106 people) says to the question, if the injury is legit:

    85 NO
    15 MAYBE
    6 YES

Nuff said....the people are not idiots Mr. Shaw and Rafael
