    What about the other 100s of boxers who get KO'd just as bad each year and don't get that sort of damage? Is Dirrell the only one smart enough to know when his brain is bust?

    You do know that undefended single punches to the head can kill people or render them comatose, and have done so a multitude of times documented throughout history, right?

    It doesn't take accumulation to cause neurological damage. One heavy free shot from a big hitter will do it.

    Damn I hope Dirrell pulls through and takes care of himself. Oh well, **** happens that sucks. Ward-Dirrell might of been a boring fight, but probably the best from a technical standpoint because both these guys are pretty good, especially Ward. Bring on Ward-Bute!!!

    This from a Margo lover?

    Although I see your point.

    That would keep AA from ever knocking out your beloved Pavlik.

    There was a time line that was extremely easy to track. There wasn't time for Pavlik to miss any appointments unless he missed them way back when the Mora fight got cancelled. Missed appointments at that point would not be relevant to the Williams situation, because the same doctor who claimed Pavlik missed two appointments also said KP would be ready to fight in September 2009.

    The number of deaths from single punches is like 0.00000001% of all KO punches thrown I would imagine

    why wouldn't he take that money then? Your argument makes no sense. He's not turning down the opportunity to make over a million because he's pals with Ward and doesn't want to have a match with him.

    Dirrell wasn't going to come out and say well i've been having headaches, i'm irritable, etc... The guy was obviously hoping to get better and did not want to bring any more attention to his condition.

    He will be fine, just needs to avoid Ward who would kick his ass and end his career.

    The way Shaw and Rafael are sidetracking now....giving the blame to Abraham.....silly as hell and very ugly.....shows, that they know they need a very good excuse for that pull out.

    I'm not talking about KO punches in boxing.

    I'm talking about fully-loaded power punches that are free shots to the head of a motionless target (which are an extreme rarity in boxing - even boxers with poor defense absorb some impact just by being in motion, by being upright on their feet and tensed up with adrenaline).

    If you're an adult human being and walk up to a stranger of your own size and punch them in the head as hard as you can from behind, you stand a very good chance of either killing them or causing severe and permanent damage requiring extensive hospitalization.

    He realized that if he loses to Ward which is a high possibility it = 2 points.
    Glenn Johnson or Green gets a KO = 3
    Froch wins agains AA = 4
    AA = 3
    Ward = 6

    Hes out!
    He doesn't have a title and hes out of the running in the tournament. Ie going through with the fight hes not a master of his own destiny. He would be a bum, fighting on the under cards for the rest of his career.
    He just made a good business decision.
    The rest is just BS!
