I disagree...I enjoy watching 24/7 whenever its on...how much coverage do boxers get on ESPN? Almost none...even if it is boring at times, you get to see sides of the fighters personalities...you dont get to see these guys much out of the ring so might as well enjoy it.

:rofl Not likely. A couple of cameramen at a training camp. I would bet that the whole things is only about 2 mill total at most.

Arum has no play in HBO doing 24/7 on the fight, Arum isnt the power player that *******s seem to want to make him out to be.

HBO doesnt want to do it because Pac and Clottley are boring people, and 24/7 with them together would put people to sleep and may even have a negitive effect on the PPV buys.:yep

An accountant friend of mine who's gone on to work for GBP told me that the budget for the Floyd/JMM 24/7 was close to topping 4 mil. He said that it was double the budget of live boxing for months of July and August.

This also coincides with the report that HBO was ruined after shelling out millions to run Jones vs Calzaghe 24/7 and the fight bombing.

    who gives a **** if there is a 24/7.

This is boxing, not a soap opera. let them fight and as long as it is a good fight worth my PPV money, I don't care. I don't even care if only 200 watch the fight because that is the problem of the promoter, not mine.

Just give me a good fight. If they decide to have 24/7 or live countdown or whatever, that is just a bonus. Some fight actually have a more interesting 24/7 than the actual fight, then you can have that. But a Pac fight never disappoints, so far, so who really cares about 24/7 except for people who will put a spin on that thing. I expect people will say that because they don't have 24/7, that Pac is least popular. WHO CARES!!!!!

A lot of people? Don't think as one person.

You should care. If fights dont sell, fighters are going to go where they do. I don't want boxing in dingy university gyms fighting in front of 400 people because the politics of boxing killed the interest. This is the best sport on the planet Earth (4th in the universe though unfortunately), It deserves the grand treatment.

I watch because I want to be entertained.

If they give the fans a good fight, everything follows. Fans will watch it reagrdless whether it has 24/7.

No matter how many 24/7 you make. if you fight like ***lignaggi, it won't change a bit. Thunder Gatti has the lousiest skillset in boxing, yet he consistently sold out his fight. And you don't have to use Divac's 1 + 1= 2 to know.

BTW, if it bombs out, it is arum's problem and it is not worth losing sleep over.

I don't get why so much hate on the 24/7. It's not like you can kick back on a couch and flip to a channel that has channel dedicated to Boxing. I love the 24/7 boring or not boring it doesn't matter.

I do not hate it. I said it is a bonus but not a requirement. If the fighter fights with their hearts, then it is better, than say having a 24/7 but end up having a JMM-Mayweather fight caliber. It is as if the 24/7 was made to compensate for the obvious mismatch or deficiency.

A fight's greatness has nothing to do with what happens before the fight. I am sure the Duran-SRL, or Ali - spinks do not have 24/7 yet those fight stayed wtih me.

People will use the 24/7 or the lack of it for their own personal agendas. Just look at the stupid posters in the earlier post. They will boil it down to a Mayweather vs. Mosley vis a vis Pac vs. Clottey popularity or any other agnda that suits them. I simply do not care if there is a 24/7. It is a BONUS, but it won't make the fight more exciting if the fighters run around each other.

Was Jones/Calzaghe 24/7 the only one where they didn't have either PBF or Pac in it? I swear, both fighters have been in just about every damn one.

In all honesty though, if the Mayweather family isn't in on the show, it usually bores me to tears. Don't get me wrong. The production value is awesome. HBO always does a good job.. but I'm sorry.. Pac.. Cotto.. JMM.. Oscar.. they are/were all great fighters, but they all have the personality of a piece of lint. Truth.

That is not personality at all.

It is called "tragedy". What more can you ask, it is like watching soap opera. Imagine a father who used his son as shield when his brother pointed a gun at him, or the imprisonment of the father with the son asking then President Bush for Pardon when he was fighting with the the US olympic boxing. What more can you ask??? But do not associate that with personality.

I don't have HBO so I can't really say anything...

But why do you need a 4 week show to make you buy the fight. I'm gonna get it anyways..
