Arum and Mayweather are businessmen and must be assesing the potential profits of Mayweather-Pac, Mayweather-Cotto and Canelo-Cotto.

Mayweather has the muscle on the negotiation table, so there is NO CHANCE that he will give up his Cinco de Mayo date. It's his date since 2007, he makes the most profit on that date and IMO it will be one of his key demands.

If Mayweather-Pacquiao happens on 5/5, Cotto-Canelo requires to be rescheduled towards July (besides, consider Roach trains Pacquiao and Cotto). But most likely the fighters (especially Canelo and GBP) won't agree because they already have plans and desired schedules for 2015.

By negotiating with Cotto, Mayweather is securing the 5/5 date. He could either be involved in the most profitable fight against Pacquiao (postponing or cancelling a Canelo-Cotto fight) or a less profitable fight against Cotto. Either way, Mayweather will get a 5/5 fight and Canelo will lose a big 2015 payday. IMO, the only way Mayweather-Pacquiao happens is if Arum postpones Canelo-Cotto.

 

Mayweather stalling this fight, he says he wants the fight with Pacquiao during the showtime interview.

He is missing in action, he is thinking of another road block and excuse.
Perhaps another Slower, Flat footed fighter or Recycled fight with Cotto @ 155 pounds for the ''MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE''.

Everyone would be doing themselves a favor by keeping quiet on negotiations instead of this stupid propaganda war going on where no one wins.

 

That is not annoying only Arum and Oscar. That is annoying alot of boxing fans because I think non-mayweather fanboys would rather see canelo vs. cotto then a mayweather rematch.

The only fight I am interested to see mayweather or pacquiao in is against each other. Canelo Cotto has been talked about at that date forever and they cannot just drop everything because mayweather claims interest in fighting pacquiao acts ignoring him for years.

I have bought more mayweather PPVs then pacquiao but the last few years have been too much. Not only so I believe he is the reason the PAC fight hasn't happened now he is scuttling other interesting matchups (canelo cotto). Ridiculous.
