What more details do you need?

He said point blank "As I understand it, Les Moonves is in contact with the Mayweather camp and not getting anywhere." He also specifically used the phrase "one-way traffic".

The insinuation clearly indicates that Floyd (at least now) has no interest in the fight, while Pac's team and even Les Moonves have made efforts to bring it together.

Whatever your opinion of Dan Rafael, his factual reporting is usually on point and he is certainly very well connected.

I don't think he's an especially great writer, although he's certainly not a bad writer. I don't think he has much personality or charisma for TV. And I don't think his predictions are especially good, but in fairness if you pick a lot of fights you're going to get your fair share of wrong picks over time.

But Dan is good at reporting facts, be it contract details, fight recaps, or negotiation processes. There is very good reason to believe Dan's reporting is accurate on this matter.

I guess the flip-side is the lack of details with phrases like "as far as I know" and "as I understand it" might suggest that, while connected, he is by no means fully in the loop.

But I'd imagine he's not saying these things without good reason.

So I am hard pressed to see people blaming Arum in light of this, if Rafael is to be believed (which I see no reason why he shouldn't be).

Mayweather said he will accept 100-0 split, maybe 99-1.

i agree i usually take dans word as gospel but floyds other option is khan if the pac fight falls through and he very recently just flat out shot down the possibility of fighting him. does not seem like a smart business move from floyd :huh

I imagine you are wrong with this. If you were to say "he's not getting the entire story from both sides" I'd agree. But you don't reach Dan's heights in the realm of boxing media without being very well connected. He's surely getting various sides of the story from multiple sources, and to believe otherwise ignores the status he's acquired as the top boxing reporter in the US.

Well, I guess we can only hope that the quiet over the holidays might mean progress and that both Floyd and Manny will both be willing to make a concession or 2 to make the fight a reality.

If it's gonna happen by May, things should get worked out by the end of January.

Possibly. But, it's still the holidays. I think things will pick up steam again at the beginning of the year.

I can't imagine these proposed May fights being announced late January. How many months out does the big Cinco de Mayo fight usually get signed in recent years?

    No doubt he has sources.

But when you have been squabbling the the head of SHO Boxing for years, there are going to be problems when it comes to partiality.

Honestly I don't know whats been going on with fat dan for the past few months, I used to read most his stuff but he blocked me on twitter for this.
    - Fat Dan

    " - Me

I don't get his articles linked anymore so I'm out of the loop. He's usually late with the breaking news anyways.
