Did I say that? Khan doesn't fight ANY well schooled boxer with power in his own division, this is a fact. All his opponents have to be hindered in some way to make him look good.
I think Khan is going to be the type of fighter who no matter who he beats, excuses will always be made about that opponent not being valid enough.... If he beats Bradley - "Bradley was too short, never had that much power anyway, and drained himself to make 140" If he beats Maidana - "Maidana was always a one dimensional slugger" If he beats Alexander - "**** A'mere Con, he fought like a *****. He knew if exchanged, Devon would have put him to sleep" Too many people on here are not willing to allow Khan to develop himself before stepping with the big boys. They're more than aware of the natural talent he possesses, and if he reaches his full potential without any setbacks, he can be the top dog in this weight. Instead, they're praying for another Prescott fiasco - in that he walks in to a fight unprepared again. He's 23 still, been in this 140 division for only a year, has boxed a measly 12 rounds since beating Kotelnik, has just one fight in the US, and still needs to build his profile up. I'm happy for him to take the route he's currently taking, because Roach will know exactly when he's ready to take on the Bradleys and the Alexanders. And when this time comes (12/18 months down the line), you best believe Khan will not be blown away.
He's supposed to be a world champion, if he was not ready to defend against these guys he should not have fought for the title. His age and inexperience are no excuse.
I agree, he shouldn't even be holding a world title to be honest. After that Prescott loss, the pressure was on him and Warren to quickly do something to get the public back on his side - an easy World Champion in Kotelnik fit the bill nicely. Unfortunately though, this raised the demand on him to fight the best straight away, despite him not being ready. But with that said, titles don't mean **** no more. Attaining impressive wins over good opposition is far more valuable. Being with a powerful promotional company like GBP, means he'll get the breathing space he needs to develop himself as a fighter. The detractors can hate all they want, but it's definately the correct career path to take
