And both fights got **** poor ratings. I doubt HBO is in a hurry to have him headline a card any time soon.

    1) Jermain Taylor
    2) Winky Wright
    3) Kelly Pavlik

I think he'd move down for any of those three. Kessler doesn't bring enough money to the table for him to move down for Kessler though.

    :huh

    palle offered calzaghe 5 million.
ended up being an 8 million pound fight

dawson got 1/5th of that v tarver and 1/10th v ruiz and mendoza at best

at the moment dawson is drawing just a few hundred fans to his fights and is not commanding huge 7 figure purses.

kessler got bigger purses euro to dollar exchange rate at the time for calzaghe/mundine/beyer/andrade than dawson has earnt in his biggest fight v tarver.

Makes perfect sense. Libella sees Bute as a winnable fight for JT, and he knows Kessler would kick Taylor's ass.

Too bad its gonna backfire on him. Bute beats Taylor.

17 weight classes with 4 "major" sanctioning bodies. It shouldn't be hard to put together one "super card" per month should it? :huh I guess everyone with a strap has to be the 'headliner'. :nut

rafael is 100% right to question kessler's future in the US.

what kessler allows his team to do in terms of matchmaking in the next year could easily decide if he's going to be taken seriously in the US or not.

sometimes it's fun listening to rafael and sometimes he whines a lot (because heø's nothing more than an armchair boxing fan at the end of the day), but he knows how business works and kessler's going to be forgotten by the fighters he wants to fight if he doesnt wake up.

but kessler's falling out of the limelight by chasing bogus belts and opponents who dont matter in terms of getting him world class opoonents - which means he's going to become another high risk low reward casualty if he keeps doing that.

It's risk/reward. Froch is a foreign prospect. Lacy is a former American Champ, coming off a a couple of wins, shakey/dodgy wins, but wins nonetheless.

Froch should really have agreed to fight Bute in the IBF eliminator......shouldn't he?:hey

Kessler Taylor would make more money than Taylor Bute. No-one knows who Bute is...

Taylor had one fight at 168. Let him get acclamated to the division then he can fight Kessler. Fighting Kessler after one fight would be counterproductive.
