Seems like everyone has/had these never ending beefs with Haymon or vice versa these days. And that's not good for boxing because a lot of Haymon's fighters (the dumb ones) signed to his exclusive contracts. Al is the Dana White of boxing!
Is that a bad thing, or were you in love with Bi-polar Bob Arum and coke head De La Hoya? Haymon has single handedly brought boxing back to mainstream, free TV, and record setting increased US popularity. He's breathing new life into a dying sport. What's not to like about that? :huh
Plenty good fights don't happen and Haymon has no involvement at all. Froch vs GiGi fight didn;t happen and had nothing to do with Haymon. GiGi ducked Lara and it had nothing to do with Haymon. Froch Vs Ward ll didn't happen. Haymon had no involvement. Lomanchenko didn't face Walters but it wasn;t Haymon's fault Cotto may not face Golovkin, will you blame Haymon too?
I think Ward believed there was no fights for him at 168. He didn't want to fight DeGale, he didn't want to fight the Dirrell brothers.
Steve kim is a weirdo... i remember debating him about Pacquaio and De La Hoya, he didnt want to agree with me that De La Hoya was going to be drained.. he looked like a fool after..
When fighters retire like Froch or are afraid to be brutally stopped like Cotto or avoid certain fights because of THEIR OWN reasons, it is regrettable but not so bad when they can't fight because of their promoters, "advisers", networks, etc.
Steve Kim is a biased azzhole. He's been biased against Ward since 2010. Ward must've turned down an interview or something. He's nothing more than an attention seeker.
He is right about Ward's "offer" though. Very conveniently, the "offer" was sent after the Lemieux PPV was announced and it became clear that Golovkin will not be available any time soon having unification fights lined up.
Steve Kim lied though, Ward DID make an offer to fight Triple G in 2016. Even Loeffler spoke to the LA Times about it saying 'It would've been a bad deal to take." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...vkin-rejecting-fight-offer.html#ixzz3nT6PcKCM
What Steve meant and what I was commenting on is that Ward's offer wasn't sincere, as he knew that Golovkin would not be available for a long time. Fighting Cotto/Canelo and Lee/Saunders winners can easilly take the whole 2016.
