As a boxing observer, I've been watching his moves for the past ten years. I was one of the few people on this forum who knew he wasn't going to fight Pac. He will fight Sugar Shane...this is a good style match up for him and will prove to be an easy fight for Floyd. The Sugarman has never been an effective aggressor and the much anticipated match will look a lot like the Floyd/DLH fight. Mark my words, Floyd will fight Sugar Shane after Mosley loses to Andre Berto. Proving that he wanted to make this fight happen the entire time. Are people too ignorant to recognize that the Shane Mosley outburst after the JMM/Floyd was staged? Now that we can see that GBP has a vested interest in Floyd's opponents, there should be no question about it. This is what will happen.
By normal standards of course not, fighting the highest ranked guy available is how Pacman has always rolled. But compared to what I should be watching it will be a massive anti-climax. My reason was stated, we the public buy the fight(s), lets say they do well, where's the motivation for both camps to pull their heads out of their arses and make the fight we all want to see happen? Hopefully others will be like minded, their next two fights bomb like no other ppv has bombed before and they have no alternative but to fight each other. I'm dreaming but you never know........
Hopefully, boxing fans aren't like minded and won't place as much emphasis on a fight that wouldn't have delivered anyway. Too much is being made about this fight. Floyd and Pac aren't why we love boxing so much. Stop acting like it.
What??? This is the Ali-Foreman / SRL-Duran / Hearn-Hagler of our generation and these *******s are possibly going to rob us of it, of course too much is being made, it's that important!! Ok, well lets say previous monumental fights never happened, Ali-Forman/Fraiser, The SRL-Hearns-Duran-Hagler roundabout. How do you think the sport would have fared? My basic point is if these primadonna's continue to make big $$$ fighting lesser opponents where's the motivation to fight the best? I may be having a drama queen moment but I believe I'm right.
There are a lot of great match-ups that we've never had the privledge of viewing...this is boxing, remember...the sport of mythical match-ups? This is just one fight joining the huge laundry list of opponents never to face each other. Dude, like no one in the history of the sport has ever ducked an opponent? Get over it...this is what has been wrong with boxing for a very long time. We will always see Dallas vs Phillie twice a year in football. We will always see Lakers vs Spurs 5 times a year in basketball. This has always been a problem in boxing, don't treat this like the end of the world.
Actaully it is a sub-standard fight, and if Floyd was fighting Clottey you same people that are claiming is such a great fight would be stating the truth and that is Clottey has lost in every step up fight he has had, every fight on the highest level he loses has had one tko/ko win in six years. If he was fighting Floyd this would be getting drug though the mud, about how Clottey is coming off a lose. But truth is that is nothing new for Manny, who has over the past several years fought guys that have been coming off the worst showing of thier careers...THAT is FACT.
This :deal This is how boxing can recover is this: Manny has to destroy Clottey Floyd has to fight somebody and look impressive Floyd has to fight the winner of Berto/Shane and look impressive The Manny/Floyd talks will start again and it will be even bigger then it was now.
I'm with you...I think I would rather watch the UFC over this ****!atsch That sounds like a stacked card anyways so its a no brainer on which is quality and which is ****!:-(
HGH use is now detectable through testing of urine samples and the breakthrough technology is officially ready to "Rock-and-Roll." :bbb:happy Now what will Floyd say? Ceres Nanosciences launched the first release of that new technology, NanotrapTM ESP Particles.
Clotley would have been the pefect opponent for PBF. Too bad Pac got him first. Now he will have a tough time finding a decent opponent for the March 13th date. Atleast someone tough enough to hang in there with him and good enough to make him fight.
If I can get some people together to chip in I'll do one of the boxing ones but if not, no way. Yeah that UFC is stacked dude, kinda pumped to see GSP destroy Hardy too
Link I respect your opinion and logic behind your reasoning but I'm sticking by my guns. Yes there are great match-ups but all pale in comparising to PBF-Pac. It could be many years till we see a fight of this magnatude again and that's not something I'm cool with.
How about Paulie maggs then....Go back and check the posts of people defending Pac when HIS camp was talking about fighting Maggs, then go back and watch the same people bash Mayweather when the fight was even rumored...Many of you cats are smart enough to keep from being total tools and letting what is a pure hatered not shine though for the guy, you should at least make an attempt not to have such a double standard when it comes to what fighter you like and dont like can and cant get away with.
