He didn't have a full training camp as he was training in big bear at that time and fires all around him... Then the controversy over the steel plate in his head.. He was not there mentally like he was in the 2nd fight.

 

So he needed more than 6 years to get over the plate thing?

 

No you don't you think emotionally because if you did you would realize a guy who went life and death with jmm for 4 fights with no jab couldn't beat a guy who fights at all ranges with atg defense reflexes and ring iq. It was brought up at the time he was fighting Pacquaio... The reason why he did better against Pac in the rematch was because he took a little break from the sport, regrouped and had a full 8 week uninterrupted training camp.
